Angling for steelhead with a two handed spey rod isn't the most effective form of fishing. Yet I rather enjoy the meditative state of casting and breathing while occasionally being jolted by voracious tugs of a swung fly. The mental speed of daily life quickly fade to the focused parts of a well crafted spey cast. It becomes my own mental sanctuary.
