Rally sim just has a closer connection to the real world of driving for me due to being on roads like I've driven in real life along with the physics and conditions and proper response of cars, albeit quite different from cars I'll ever own. It's become my favorite kind of racing over the past 2 years.
Yeah I can't help but feel like the back roads around where I grew up would be amazing for rally. I might be able to go to an ARA event this year too but far from where I am now
Underrated video! And I totally agree with you, the thing about rally is that its unpredictable, and in motorsports especially sim racing when its online, people just memorize the tracks by practicing them. Not saying that isnt difficult but rally just has this art of improvisation and innovation nothing else does.

Anomaly? The game is a complete mess...
only the performance and graphics are the huge issue, and the messy ai and other bugs. but other then that the game isnt really that bad
Sure it has problems, but it's really really fun, especially when you join one of the Clubs. The stages and cars are great and the driving is an improvement on Dirt Rally 2.0 in my opinion (and I still love that game). Plus I'm more hoping this inspires someone new to try out rally racing in general, and i mention RBR and Dirt Rally as great opinions as well.

A friend of mine has one and still races it. It does 1:21 at Mosport (CTMP) it’s a rocket ship and there sound is ear piercing loud

Great video man. Lot of fun to watch. You were doing a great job on those softs. You could have went an extra lap on those softs with the amount of tread they had left, and had fresh wets for the last 3 laps. The 3 seconds you'd have lost on the extra lap would have been a lot less than the time you lost on dead wets. Your botched strat would have been brolliant. Still got the win though. Some amazing work in the wet and with dead tires.

Hey Schim out of curiosity does the Lexus need pads 2 for races? From what I found, pads 2 is more for long distance endurance racing (2 hours or more) while brake pads 1 are normally used for any run under 2 hours. Not sure if you knew this already nor do I know if this helps you in any way, but I thought I share it with you in case you didn’t know and may find it helpful for future races.
I actually prefer brake pads 2 most of the time, pads 1 for under 90 min. I think Portis and maybe Larson are the same way. I find after about 45 min I feel the change in the pads too much. Race pace wise there isn't much of a difference from what I see.

Great race! Strange that wets would fade faster than slicks. Also slicks, on a wet track, in a GT3 with no TC! 👀
Yeah it's wild how wet weather is handled right now in the game. I'm hoping they tighten it up!

I actually really enjoy the pit strategy elements of the game, although i agree that wet tyres should last longer. I think having to somewhat conserve your tyres and short races and making a no stop very difficult on a longer race allows for different strategies on races that arent too long
The more I play, the more I agree. I still think drop off is a little quick once you go to yellow though. I'm talking like one lap more on the tires.
@@schim6437 yeah tyres die pretty much straight away when it hits yellow, but you can plan around that and in my opinion it does not make the game any worse, just punishes you for making poor strategy

how do you turn off the steering wheel?
As in my view settings? There's both a cockpit and driver camera. One has the steering wheel and wider field of view, the other focuses on the dashboard of the car with a lower field of view and doesn't have the wheel. I can't remember off the top of my head which is which, but if you cycle the camera setting you should be able to find both

I'm excited for the daily racing they announced with fixed setup cars and such. Safety rating should also be a really nice inclusion to the online!
100% agree! I hope the safety system works well, tough to tell from what I've seen so far. They have a fixed TC and GT series from what I see and I'm excited to try them out!
