@@r.j.parker3734 really the big issue on 18-19 s4s is the rocker arm failures. If that’s been addressed and you just ask general maintenance questions then you’ll be good to go, my buddy has an 18 s5 with over 100k and it’s been great to him 💯

@@DatNguyen-gu8nx loved the s4 but I got a new job where I had to drive more and wanted something more reliable. The Lexus didn’t last long tho and now I have a bagged mk5 Supra lol

@@emirhanguler4091 yes I have a tune, you should get the same amount of pops with the touring but obviously won’t be quite as loud since you have mufflers.

@@emirhanguler4091 I couldn’t tell u exactly how it would sound, shouldn’t sound terrible but would prob be a little more raspy than I’d like with the stock downpipes

Yours will be even less raspy than mine was, just not quite as loud since you have the touring

@@Stiizyy I sold it after about a year and a half of owning it. Loved the car but I wanted to try building an is350 as an experiment and never fell in love with that. Sold it fast and bought my Supra which is getting built to be a canyon car

Redstar test pipes i heard they sound better and better quality than CAP

It wasn’t tooooo bad but making this much power does bring some issues. The big one was the pcv that goes out at 80-100k. Also burned about 1-1.5 quarts of oil every 4k miles and went through a TON of fuel hoses. It also needs carbon cleaned right after you do the pcv or it’ll go out again soon after. But no major issues besides that

@@slamdmkv btw, did you ever have any troubles with the S-Tronic gearbox?? I'm looking into buying again an S4, this time perhaps a 2014 model where manual isn't an option anymore. I used to have the manual on a 2009 model

@@stefandsc1028 they had manual s4s and s5s up until 2016, but my dsg never gave me any problems at all. Drove it for 20k+ miles with a dsg tune on it too

@@slamdmkv manual here only up to 2011, then S-Tronic only. On very very very rare occasions there are manuals on B8.5 on sedans only, which in Europe aren't popular at all. So 99.8% of all S4s here are estate versions, which after facelift came only with S-Tronic. Even regular A4 Sedan are quite difficult to come by here in EU.

I will agree that the b9 is a wayyyy better platform for building as I’ve seen 700+ hp builds with the TTE710 turbo. I don’t have my s4 anymore but I have an IS350 F Sport as my daily now, gonna make a clean bagged show car out of it then go R35 or Mk5 Supra as the next fast car build

@@slamdmkv I tried my advance launch control but mine doesn’t sound like that it just revd up consistently not like yours , what rpm are you setting it at and are you left foot breaking or got it in park ?

@@Not_Clone24 it was set at 4500 here I think and you have to be in drive with the trans in s mode, car in dynamic mode, traction off, wheel straight then hold the brake to get the flames like that

I had kind of the same experience, the repairs started getting pretty often towards the end of me owning it. I have an IS350 F Sport as my daily now and I’ll be getting an R35 as my weekend car within the next 6 months

@@slamdmkv that should be a reliable car. I've rented the 250 before, the interior ergonomics is really good for what it is, I find that to be more comfortable than the S4, which also led me briefly wanting a is500 or RC500, having driven both that and LC500, I'd have to say, as a daily car it exceeds my expectation. But as a weekend car it does not much for me besides the v8. I take it R35 meaning the GTR R35? Looking forward to seeing videos of that car on your channel! I've heard lots of great things about it.

When I had no resonators it was unbearably raspy too. I have an awe track with awe resonated downpipes now and it’s so much better

@@slamdmkv cool. Thinking of hacking up my awe dps and putting on some vibrant ultra quiet resonators. Not sure if that would do the trick or if I need the touring exhaust also.

Actually doesn’t drone too bad since there’s 3 resonators directly under the cabin. Def daily drivable

@@slamdmkv Yea I was looking into tuning mine years ago. Even just a simple ECU flash you get a crazy hp uplift. I figured I'd wait to see those who increase the power to see how their cars handle it over time.

@@julianpopa-liesz3345 these 3.0 supercharged are one of the best engines you can build in any price range tbh. Up there with b58s and the Audi/lambo 5.2 imo

@@slamdmkv I got the S4 without the sport diff it's also the standard version and not the DSG. I had a tech tell me the sport diff doesn't make much difference and that the manual is a better choice over the DSG for maintenance. It has like 40km on the engine and I've had nothing but enjoyment driving it even with stock.

@@julianpopa-liesz3345 if u do decide to start modding and tuning it, I HIGHLY recommend 034. It’s by far the most aggressive/highest hp tune for this platform but it works great as a daily still. I’ve been pushing 500+ for a while now and its held up great
