I'd like to make myself believe that this takes place in an alternate universe where Boyfriend, Girlfriend and Pico escaped Sonic.EXE's game after experiencing all of the songs that were planned for the version 3.0 release of Sonic.EXE, full-combo'd every song in Mario's Madness Version 2.0 and found the secret items needed to make it out of Mario.EXE's hellhole through the Secret Exit song. All the while, Sonic.EXE decided to learn from his past mistakes as well as Mario.EXE's mistakes in an attempt to take down Boyfriend and Girlfriend once and for all. He does so by closely analyzing the antics Boyfriend, Girlfriend and Pico went through during the events of version 2.0 of Mario's Madness. With the powers he had at his disposal, Sonic.EXE creates even harder and longer versions of the songs he originally used to attack Boyfriend, Girlfriend and Pico with, as well as throw a few new ones at them as well. Unfortunately, like Mario.EXE before him, Boyfriend found the key item needed to escape: the 7 Chaos Emeralds. When Sonic.EXE found out about this, he knew he didn't have much time to stop boyfriend in his tracks, he played his last card, which just so happened to be Mario.EXE's last card. And just like Mario.EXE before him, Boyfriend, Girlfriend and Pico escaped Sonic.EXE's hellhole once again.
