Exploring outdoors with a massive bag and a camera.
I Climbed North Africa's Highest Mountain in Winter - Mount Toubkal
After months of planning and training, I reached the summit of my first 4,000m mountain.
Prior to this trip, the highest I had ever been was just over 1,000m. Mount Toubkal is over 4 times higher than that at 4167m, so this definitely wasn't easy...
This adventure means a lot more to me than just being at the highest point in North Africa, it was an entire week making unreal memories with the most incredible group of people.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TOUBKAL TREK OR ANYTHING MOUNTAINEERING PLEASE DO COMMENT OR MESSAGE ME ON INSTAGRAM, TRUST ME I KNOW HOW STRESSFULL IT CAN BE PREPARING FOR THIS SORT OF THING.
If ya made it all the way til the end, I really do appreciate it, more cra...

Crib Goch - My First Scramble in The UK
Просмотров 526Месяц назад
After hearing that Crib Goch was up there with the most dangerous grade 1 scrambles in the UK, ofcourse I had to go do it with zero experience. Obviously you're seeing this video, so I didn't die! But one wrong move and you definitely could be up there, it definitely deserves its reputation. Me and three of my mates drove 4 hours to complete CRIB GOCH despite there being a storm of 70mph winds ...

I would not advise going here if you want to save your money, there's too much to buy... While I was there I bought all the smaller stuff I need for upcoming trips i'll be going on, but somehow it still cost hundreds lol Bit of a shorter video, but trust me there's some unreal video's coming so so soon. Thanks again so much if you made it to the end, SEE YOU VERY SOON. #outdoors #shopping #adve...

Who did you book the trip through?
MuchBetterAdventures, Couldn’t recommend them more!
Hi! What did you use to film this? Amazing video, and i´m going there next february. What do you think i have to wear, more or less than you in this video? Thanks :)
And what was the weather in celsius? Amazing video bro keep going!
Hi mate, I just use a GoPro! I assume the weather in Feb isn’t too different to what it is right now, and what I wore worked really well. Base layers, winter waterproof trousers, thick fleece and hardshell jacket. Ofcourse all your basics like gloves, beanie etc. (I just followed the kit list on the MuchBetterAdventures Winter Toubkal page) At summit i’m pretty sure it was -8°C! Thanks so much :)
Awesome video, what an adventure it was!
I really enjoyed this video Mitch. What a great adventure into a totally new environment, experience and and culture for you boys Well done on the climb guys, with smiles all the way, amazing scenery Good to see boys being boys, sliding on ya arses down the slope Good words of appreciation at the end for all those that made it possible for yous Bring on the next video Mitch, you make a top job of them mate Watching from New Zealand
Thanks so much, really means a lot! I’m glad the video showed how amazing the trip really was
Amazing spot and gear. Looks like a fun trip🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Nice camp lad, it’s great to get out there in the wild. Subbbed👍
what are you recording with?
@@calco2661 GoPro Hero 12!
Great video again Mitch, that razor back ridge would have ya arsehole tweaking a bit lol Ya done well navigating thru the darkness back to the car, and still with high spirits, well done boys
Thanks a lot again! Hahaha it was quite scary up there, but wait until you see what i’m climbing in a few weeks😆
Is it nervous camping outdoors by yourself? I've never camped out just on my own before! It's also a good lung workout blowing up the air mattress, keeps the lungs healthy. My mate is big on fitness also and says it's good for you and regularly blows a double by himself! You'll get better the more you do it. Already impressive you blew the pillow up in just two breaths!
It can be quite scary at first, but you’ve got to realise that if you’re doing it in places like The Peak District, no one out there is dodgey like elsewhere in the country. Any sounds at night is just wind, sheep or birds! Once you’ve done it once it gets a whole lot easier from then onwards👍🏻
Head over tryfan just north of mountain snowdon and try scrambling via the north face. Its fcking epic!!
100% Will do that one day, looks unreal
banger bro great time thanks
Top weekend sherpa lane
Mint video mate

Amazon content! Keep it going🤩🌞
❤️
This is so real
oex sponsor this man 😅
Sporting goods stores are dangerous places to go with money, or cards, in ya pocket lol ..... I'll have this, I'll have that, oh yeeeeah, I'll have that too lol
German Shepherds 🤣🤣 Well done mate! We're both newbie wild campers and newbie RUclipsrs 👍🏼 It's a steep learning curve for us both! 😅 Subscribed! I think you'll be a pro in no time!
Thanks so much😊 Enjoyed your recent vid, subbed too!
Another comment for the algorithm mate. Good vid. Live and learn
Well done for getting out for your first wild camp. Planning on getting out for my first some point in October! I’ll make sure I pack a lighter!
Pack 2! Last thing you want in October is no warm food or drinks🤣
@@MitchMKNZIE valid point mate! 😂
Just subbed mate, looking to get into wild camping myself. Would you do a video talking through on what equipment you take on your camping trips?
Ayy thanks mate! Yes ofcourse, I should be able to make that video fairly soon👍🏻
Haha 😂 gotta have redundancy plans bud. Nice video. I look forward to the channel grow. Keep at it. You live and learn.
Lots more to come for sure, thanks a lot mate😁
😂😂😂 Heavy back pack, long walk, no lighter for stove so no dinner, big dip in the ground so sh*t night sleep, cold throughout the night because no down cloths, no breakfast or cup of coffee in the morning, rubbish view because it was misty, other than that it was great 🤣🤣🤣It was still an adventure and you had the get up an go to do it !!! Fair play ! Looking back you had fun. Better than sitting in your bedroom watching other people have fun. You got a New subscriber. Well done !
Hahaha on paper it sounds like hell, but was somehow still so enjoyable🤣🤣 Thanks so much, means a lot😁
new sub
Nice video mate. Keep going!
Thanks😁
Alcohol - really smart. not.
Calm down, not as if they had a keg of beer.
Loved this video! Well done mate 👏 subbed
That wayfarer food can be boiled in the bag, get yourself a long spoon to eat out the bag, clean pan and you can use the water to make a brew when your done 😊
I loved it, warts and all, keep going as long as its fun.
That is the most fantastic little film. Full of priceless moments - both horror and laugh out loud - you did seriously well. This kind of stuff definitely happens to everyone, and makes the best learning moments. Thanks so much for sharing, and not hiding anything away from all of us. Brilliant!
Thanks so much😁
Pre cook things like curries/ chilli’s and reheat through on the stove
Tell ya mate he’s putting his pegs in on the wrong angle!
Quality video that one mate, what drone are you using for the clip around 8:00 mins in mate? cracking shots.
Thanks mate! It’s a DJI Mini 2 SE, quite a basic one but it’s ideal for simple stuff like this
Thinking about something like this myself, your new camper journey is great viewing so keep doing them.
Do it 100%, so much more enjoyable eating good food on the camps! Really appreciate that, will do😁
@@MitchMKNZIE My problem is where to camp! So many camping sites near North London are commercial places, I may have to be brave a train ride somewhere more remote, I don't even have a tent yet, complete newby in my 50s 😄
1) light your stove from your mates instead of a walk back to car for lighter haha.. and 2) boil your food in the bag in some water, if you keep the food packet clean you can then use the hot water for a coffee. Great upload lads!
@@flycrashrepairrepeat6225 don't think using the water that you heat the pouch in to make a drink is a great idea. Who knows what's on the outside of the pouch and what might leach into the water from the printing...
These are the people you don't want wild camping 0 respect and laughing about setting fire to forest. Pitched early. That's what you get when you think wild camping is buying all the expensive gear. I'd suggest stop making videos
@@PatrickHobley bit harsh! The LAST thing I would say about these lads is "zero respect." And if you think they genuinely think setting fire to a forest is funny you need to pull your head from where the sun don't shine and have a word with yourself.
Stop the burn on mate by boiling the meals in the bags and eating out of them, saves washing up 👌 get your self a long spork or open the bag along the long side 👍. Total success compared to the last one, but ya don’t get better at it by not making the mistakes.
We've all been there it's a lesson learned always check out how new equipment works in practice before hand well done all the same
Lessons leard
I actually learned a lot more from this video showing candidly the various mistakes, than from the RUclipsrs who make everything look perfect. Good luck for the upcoming ones
That’s good to hear! Sometimes it’s hard to know what to expect but so far i’ve found it’s the best way, making these small mistakes and remembering for next time🤷🏼♂️ Thanks a lot😁
Bloody well done Mitch, another great video That is an ace spot to pitch camp for the views especially the sunset and sunrise (if you could wake up early enough lol) Way to go with the tucker boys, Jamie Oliver eat ya heart out. There's a time and place for the sachet meals, on longer trips, or as emergency food, but if you can carry it on overnighters, fresh and "real" food is the way to go The more you can do to enjoy a hike, and camp without sacrificing safety gear, makes you all the more keen to do it again and again (almost like a "chocolate fix") Pretty classy pancake flipping there Mitch, and I loved the "rock" plate slash table hahaha very rustic I enjoyed watching this vid as much as you boys did actually doing it i reckon haha ..... bring on the next one ..... and soon😉
Haha yes the real food is great but took up a lot of space in our bags so on occasions it’ll have to be the sachets😆 Really appreciate you watching again!
Deffo gotta do some nandos chicken wraps, with some yog and mint sauce, love the videos mate, just started myself camping myself in the lakes though, its class 👌
100% Going to do that at some point, that’d be soooo good Thanks so much, I’d love to camp at the lakes, much better than Peak district
Hot food and a hot drink helps you stay warm at night.Very nice to see you developing your wildcamping skills and enjoying yourself.
Hot drink is definitely on the list for next time😁
Good man! some rookie mistakes in there with the lack of warmth, lack of time given to find a plan B camping spot, lack of a lighter but its all about learning, dont let this put you off you could have some great times with a few different changes
Definitely learnt a lot, every time i’ve been since it’s been much better, Thanks😊
Never go camping without fire and water .good camp
Enjoyed both recent vids mate. Think of the lack of a lighter on your first one as a positive - several decades ago when I was your age we'd all have lighters because we all smoked like chimneys!
Thanks so much! Hahaha yes, much better way to look at it
Why bother going back for a lighter when your mate's stove has piezo ignition? You could have lit your stove from his! Also, I know it's already been said, just heat the food in it's unopened pouch in boiling water and no clean-up required. A long handled spork comes in handy for eating the contents straight from the pouch.
Haha yeah we never thought of that, good to know for future!
dont blow into your equipment cus the condensation from your breath causes mould to grow-use an electric pump instead
should of got the oex herio stove its all enclosed, the Oex flux wont do you great in winter btw get ya self some nature hike down trousers also get a "yoga" mat for underneath from decathalon to help witth keeping heat, the decathalon range is better for keeping warm than OEX/Go outdoors although rab stuff go to their store in somercoats (mountain outfitters) get it cheaper too, hahah hearjing the grouse 1st time i was creeped out ha! should camp neaat to the stone ( i just posted mine on derweent edge/wheelstone)
Boil a little water in your pot after cooking and use a plastic spoon or a dish sponge to clean it up. The sooner you do it the easier it is to clean. You also probably had the gas too high which caused the food to burn on the bottom of the pot
Yeah I didn’t clean up immediately so that probably made it worse, definitely gonna try that water trick next time👍🏻
Good lad, well done, will follow your journey!
