The intent of this channel is to document my adventures in finding, retrieving, and restoring vintage tractors and farm equipment. These videos will document the "Thrill of the Hunt" and the many "Trials and Tribulations" of moving heavy vintage iron, typically not in running condition. My channels main idea is to tell the story of how I restore these machines to like new condition and use them in shows, plow days, and parades. My personal goal is to preserve them for years to come and teach some basic mechanical skills to my viewers and explain how these machines work. There will be tool tutorials, explanations of systems and components, and hopefully some humor to make you laugh. May contain some "Spicy Language" and "Dad Jokes!!!"

Im loving all the activity!! So glad that hydraulic leak didn’t end in a disaster 😮 The little John Deere rider is so cute and comical. Its like the John Deere version of Forest Gumps Snapper 😅 I love brake clean as well. Best cleaner ever!

@LloydSpivey i have Sweaty Betty my John Deere MT with a single bottom plow, and a hydraulic 2 bottom trailer plow to pull behind my crawler.

I couldn't belive the price either! They are little work horses... I've had a Bobcat and 3 case skidsteers.... this one is my favorite!

Looks nice. I know it’s a lot of work and everything is heavy. Anything hydraulic is expensive. I got one just like it. My dad restored it. I been going through it get everything working like it should. The paint not a s nice but mechanically it’s nice. One I get blade figured out. It just small things. MayMine did have slides but I found a set. What kind of hydraulic oil did you use. Do you know if it makes a difference or not. Thanks
@daridley Thank you, and it's good to know that others who have these are watching! I use Shell Rotella 15w 40 for my hydraulic fluid. Same oil i have in the engine.... that way, if the hydraulic pump seal leaks into the engine sump, I won't have hydraulic fluid in my engine. It works fine, and the machine doesn't know the difference.
@@RustyWrenchRestorations I use thsy oil in engine never thought of hydraulic. That might help my leak down problem with thicker oil.

Did you rebuild the cylinders. If you did how hard are they. I got to do some. And did you rebuild controls also.
No I did not. As stated in the video I am hoping they are all in working order still as they were when it was parked. I plan on getting the blad on this week and operating by this weekend. If I have any leaks or issues they will be addressed then and if I ha e to rebuild 1 or. Oth cylinders I will make a video. They are pretty simple and don't require any special tools.
@@RustyWrenchRestorations Thanks i got a leak down somewhere I think it in the cylinders. There is no leaks in hoses they are relatively new. I went through valves put all new prongs and seals. I even found NOS cases. I was told they were worn out. It slowed it up but still leaks down just not as fast. I know the cylinders kits are expensive

@daridley is it for a 62 vlade like this one? I've had luck taking them apart and bringing the internals to a good hydraulic shop.... they measure the seals and orings and I got the parts fairly cheap. Sometime there are good kits online also. If your cylinders are loosing pressure and there are no external leaks then yes... they need to be rebuilt. Be careful with new old stick items... though new or never used they can deteriorate over time.

Thanks for all your information. I looked at video. My cylinders and different. They are like ones you are working on now. I got rebuilds kits for them recently.
