How did you get the keys?
You can get them on the training grounds. You can also get them on the caves and towers the second time you go there- but not sure if there is always a key.

I haven't tried to get them. I finished this game before without getting the masks. I am sure better masks will help and make the missions more easy but I think the main army is more important. For me atleast. :D

It has a high stagger chance. So I can farm materials from boses much easier. But I think the rarepon Wandaba has a higher chance. I am not entirely sure. :D

I think the drops are random. I can't remember what I recieved but I think that what you got is pretty good. If I am not mistaken that is the Heavenly Horse? Heavenly items are good until you get much better items.
