I think it’s nice you can find on RUclips a sample class on the various A levels so you know a little how the class will be like. I feel they should do a basic less of A level for each choice during GCSE’s to give the students an idea of what the classes are really about.

Why did they let anyone take more than 3?

Hi Sophie! I know this video is a few years in the past now but I’m graduating from this uni/this course in May and was wondering if you had any tips?

I remember seeing this video when I was waiting my a-level results, it was a way to prepare myself for the worst-case scenario. This was 4 years ago and now I've received a merit in my master's degree and 2:1 in my bachelor's. While they are great, they don't make me or anyone else a better or more valuable person and sometimes, people get a degree as a means to an end, so you can be more qualified for a job compared to someone with a degree, especially since employers look for experience. Reflecting on this video, I really want to commend you for uploading this video during a time when videos of people failing were not common at all. Additionally, this video stood to the test of time, everything you said in this video is valid. I have seen people go to work after they got their gcse or a-level results. On top of that, I have seen mature people take gcse exams. So from that, as the video said, those exams or results do not determine your future and plenty of people have had good jobs without them. Those exams do not define your worth! At the end of the day, your happiness is what ultimately matters and if not doing a-levels mean that, then that's totally okay! People have done great things without them! I'm glad the lady in the video is doing well, it is further evidence that these results do not define you!

i failed my alevels twice 10 years ago. i used to bunk college all the time, i never studied but i was also very depressed. i couldnt accept that i wasted 2 years failing so i worked hard to make a better future for myself. i did a btec in applied science, got into uni for a foundation year then completed a BEng in chemical engineering. my 1st job after uni was a lab assistant for a global corporate giant and im currently at a regulatory group doing chemical registrations. i even bought a house after being frugal for years and having no social life. alevels are not for everyone and there are alternative routes. i never thought id be in the situation that im in now, the education system in the uk is not built to handle depressed students at all throughout there was so much work, late nights studying, finding the right books, revising, applying for 100s of jobs, moving to a new city for a new job, managing office politics. i look at my coworkers who succeeded in alevels and uni but struggle with anxiety/stress because they've always been perfect but now in the job world they cant handle failure. failing alevels makes you stronger in a way, its a life lesson that sticks for life. if i didnt fail alevels like i did i doubt i would have busted my ass as hard as i did to get to where i am now

Thank you for this video. I did well in my GCSEs and was predicted A*A*A in my A-levels. I got 3 Bs during my mocks and because of this I pushed myself to revise my ass off when it came to the real A-levels. I was confident, I thought I was ready, before my mocks I’d gotten nothing but A’s in test papers and I knew I could do it. This past month has been literal hell, I’ve walked into every single exam completely sleep deprived due to anxiety attacks the night before, I haven’t walked out of a single exam feeling confident. I have my final English Lit exam tomorrow and I feel like I know nothing, I’m too tired and am struggling to find the energy to revise last minute and just want to get it over with. I already know my exams haven’t gone to plan, and I can feel that the next year is going to be a hard one. This video was comforting to watch, I really appreciate it, and it gives me a glimmer of hope in terms of my future prospects.

This is seriously so underrated! We’ve just got back from a two day trip to Disneyland Paris, it was amazing yet very hot weather! We stayed in Hotel Cheyenne and which was so cool. Definitely going back :)

Food aversions are awful, I suffered with them horrendously with both of my boys. With my eldest, my strongest aversion was sausages or the smell of a chip fryer. He turned 11 last week and I still can’t eat sausages now, they make me retch 🤢

I am 4 months pregnant with my first baby who is due in October, just like you. ☺ I do have a feeling our baby is a girl too, but we won't find out until our "gender reveal" party on July 9th, though our 2nd trimester ultrasound is planned on June 22nd. We chose to reveal it to our family with a special cake too. 🎂 As for the symptoms, my first trimester was just as rough : I felt exhausted and completely out of breath when going on walks. My food aversion was quite severe too, I couldn't stand the smell of food (especially eggs, meats, fish and garlic) and I felt nauseous whenever I woke up and got out of bed. Thankfully, I only had to throw up once and it's all over now ! The only thing that persists is my pregnancy break-out. The weight gain starts to be felt as well, especially in the chest, belly and legs and I've had to try to get second-hand clothing that is loose enough to feel comfortable. I am going to a christening tomorrow and it's hard to find a proper outfit to wear in my wardrobe ! 😅 Anyway, I am glad to be pregnant at the same time as you are : I do not have too many friends to share all this with either, so, it is nice to share the experience with you through the internet ! Also, I am French and live in the North, so, not so far from you ! 😉 All the best to you and your partner on this incredible journey ! 🥰

The bellybutton thing made me feel queasy lol 😆 Congratulations though! 😊🎉 My parents gave me two middle names, one is a name from an ancestor on my dads side (Ailsa), and the other one a name from an ancestor on my mum's side (Christine). 😊 Also, a note about exercise that might be informative... My mum permanently damaged her pelvic floor by exercising too soon after birth, and by doing exercises like lunges which are not good post birth.

Coming to the end of 13 weeks. This is my 3rd pregnancy and definitely the hardest. The morning sickness was terrible, but I'm finally feeling better. Lots of fruit cravings.

Thanks for this! I am 17 weeks+3 days and can confirm that 2nd trimester is so much better than the first. I didn’t really get morning sickness but extreme fatigue, cramps, hunger pangs and mood swings in the first trimester. Now that I am in the 2nd I have got more energy, appetite is back, I get dizzy spells at times now.

Do you have any plans for including your pregnancy into your asmr content or are you planning on keeping them separate? Hope you continue to have a healthy pregnancy

I was pregnant in 2021 and had textbook symptoms, no appetite until about week 14, very much like you. what I DID have was a SEVERE aversion to garlic!!! so sad, bc i usually love it....if my partner had anything with garlic I could smell like a miasma around him for days. 🤢 I hope you are healthy and the upcoming weeks are easy on you!

28 weeks today and honestly starting to slow down in energy. No cravings, low on iron and have had a really good pregnancy. Feeling lucky and grateful

I'm glad you are having a good pregnancy this far. I had my baby on Valentine's day this year and pregnancy was rough from beginning to end. Wishing you a smooth rest of your pregnancy and delivery ❤

I just gave birth to my first child on April 22 of this year. For me the first trimester was hard in terms of getting use to all the new feelings and symptoms. The third trimester was also a hard trimester due to me being 109 pounds before pregnancy so I had a lot of added breathing trouble on top of already having asthma which was due to my breast growing and the extra weight. I had a really funny symptom my whole pregnancy which was where I would smell food that wasn’t even in my house or that I haven’t had in years. I had a lot of time where I would have a hour crying fit over ice cream and where I live in the US everything closes at 9pm due to not enough staff to work late shifts so it was always after the stores closed that I wanted ice cream. But I’m the end it was worth it and I would do it all again.

With my son I had would say normal cravings alot of chillies and cream egg and chips 😂but now I'm pregnant I'm 26 weeks pregnant with a baby girl and cravings a wish I have hypermisis chronic sickness and also severe dehydration and now have hypertension great fun but good luck on your little girl and the rest of your pregnancy xx
