Glassboro, NJ WMA (2024-11-02)

A quick ride through the Glassboro, NJ Wildlife Management Area. Not really an off-road thing per se but most states have these and/or other hunting areas so it's a good way to get off pavement for a bit. Fall might not the best time to check out these areas because of the increasing hunting activity but as long as you stick to the main paths you'll be fine. Fall for my time and money is the most scenic time to be out.

After getting majorly stuck and learning the hard way that my recovery system didn't work, I built and testing a new kit. This new system has more capability than what I show and I hope it give others who off road ideas to build their own kits. What was supposed to be a rainy fall Sunday afternoon event turned into a rainy fall Sunday evening event. Capturing the trains going through a light rain I think was a win. I caught 2 out of 3 on video but the second one was pretty long. This was my first time here. Sunday seems to be a slower day but I can see why this is a popular place. Pretty much the entire area is dedicated to railfanning.

Old plane spotting vid from 2014. Everyone around here pretty much knows where the location is and it's even now listed as an "Unofficial Observation Area" on Gmaps. Planes were inbound to runways 35 and 27R.

C&D Canal Tour (Fall 2023)

This is my entry into showing the C&D Canal. I call it a tour since this is a very long video that might not be of interest to people in the off road community but I'm happy with what I saw and recorded. This is a place that comes up by people seeking destinations in the mid-Atlantic region of the US so I wanted to check it out and show what I found.

John Heinz Wildlife Refuge

John Heinz Wildlife Refuge is just outside of Philadelphia. Seems like s good place for bird watching if that is your thing (I passed a number of people doing that). City sounds are muted and you can cycle or walk the path. This was taken in November of 2023 so [thankfully] there wasn't that many people out. There's a couple of path choices so it's not just a one trick pony.

Took some time to do some more sand plains hunting in the NJ Pine Barrens. I've got a bunch of these saved but just because you can see them doesn't mean you can get to them. That's the challenge.
