I agree!! They’re super ducky sounding calls and the reeds don’t hang up like most other calls! Very hard to beat a lares!

So you’re paying 245$ for acrylic hybrid? Is the 150$ call sound ok? I think your calling sounds like a dang duck. Duck in the woods does not do that much but your call sounds good.

Thanks bud!! Man from what we’ve seen, the bream aren’t quite big enough to keep. On opening day my buddy actually bream fished a good bit and most were either too small to get on the hook or not big enough to eat.

The longer reed makes the call blow and sound like a cut-down call. I run a 1.37 in my call.
Yep, I agree. I've always said the lares hybrid is the closest thing you'll get to having both a j frame or a cut down in the same call!

Hey I’ve never been to lake but coming end of March. Can you show me some hotspots
I started making my own reeds. I bought some 10mm Mylar reed material on eBay, Bought a paper cutter and good digital caliper . I did not like the oem size reed with the hybrid. Works just fine
Beautiful work. I'd recommend moving that tool rest to within 1/4" of your work piece. It'll cut way down on the tool bouncing and give you more control. Also, watching you working on the lathe without any eye protection really make me cringe. If you are not blind already, please consider some safety glasses or better yet, a face shield.
You sound good.I think the judges might like it ,but the ducks not so much. I been chasing ducks for 60 years and I have major success simply by sounding like a live Mallard Hen.

Thank you! It is a great call. Truth be told, I traded that call before I did the video on my 21/22 lanyard I think. I have another Archangel in a different color now though. When I traded the one in this video, I knew I made a mistake lol.

Thanks bud!! Man it's hard to say which one I like better. I'd give the hybrid a slight advantage for me personally though. It has a little better range of tone. But the 2B is very ducky and easy to run for a cut down too. But if you're looking for a true cut down style call, I'd go with the 2B for sure.
