Roco-line, is not the current roco-geo line. I believe this track is not in production anymore. is top quality if you step on it it survives.

@@Traveller2016 Die van mij heeft nog maar eenmaal gereden op de layout van mijn goede vriend Tony (zie ook mijn RUclips). En dat deed hij gelukkig goed. Ik heb zelf namelijk geen layout en deze TRIX GG1 heb ik eigenlijk een beetje als collectors item. Ondanks dat deze TRIX GG1's al behoorlijk op leeftijd zijn misstaan ze zeker niet (ik dacht 2005) en hebben ze een soort karakter wat de BLI GG1 minder heeft. De huidige BLI is wel wat meer "bij de tijd". Die Italiaanse Marklin shop verkocht mijn TRIX GG1 wel als gloednieuw een jaar geleden. Ook zijn doos was geheel nieuw.

jammer van lok zeg. mijn Trix is overleden zaterdagavond. was lekker rondjes aan het rijden en boem alles valt stil, kortsluiting volgens display. komt wel vaker voor met ontsporing maar geen ontsporing nu. ik zoeken naar oorzaak. vind niks. haal ik trix GG1 van rails kortsluiting weg. moet lok nog open maken en zien wat er aan de hand is

@@Traveller2016 Ja, de stroomafnemer die omhoog stond was finaal naar de knoppen. Bufferbalk aan een kant hartstikke beschadigd plus schade waar ik pas achter kwam toen ik hem had verkocht via eBay. Voor mij was de aardigheid er 100% van af. Omdat ik zelf geen layout heb had ik hem niet getest en dacht dat hij qua rijden nog in orde zou zijn. Op eBay wel eerlijk op foto's de schade getoond en kreeg er nog $200 voor tot mijn zeer prettige verrassing (en verbazing) ........ Lang duurde de pret niet want ik kreeg een email dat hij wel sound maakte maar geen centimeter meer wilde rijden. Gelijk het geld terug gegeven en gevraagd of hij hem naar Paul the Trainman (een treinendokter in New South Wales) wilde sturen. Paul belde mij vrijwel meteen op en vroeg of ik de koper zijn geld terug had gegeven want de tandwielen aan beide kanten waren finaal naar de kl ......n !! Er was ook niet meer aan te komen en ik heb de GG1 bij Paul gelaten voor reserve onderdelen. Dit rotgeintje had ik in 2016 of 2017. De 4916 was (is) zeker een mooie GG1 in een mooi lakschema maar de nieuwe groene 4807 heeft gelukkig alles goed gemaakt. BLI heeft volgens mij ook de puntjes wat meer op de "i" gezet met een aantal dingen en ook is de sound m.i. wat verbeterd. BLI heeft nu een uitgebreid assortiment van GG1's in Groen en Tuscan rood in alle lakschema's. Qua gewicht is hij zo'n 200 gram lichter geworden hoewel nog wel steeds van metaal en nog steeds bijna 800 gram. Hij doet het prima. Hopelijk geen vervelend probleem met jouw TRIX ! In geval van twijfel zou ik naar een vertrouwde treinendokter gaan. Laat me even weten op mijn FB messenger. Vr. Groet, Jan

@@grootsan ik woon in de caribbean. De treunendokter hier ben ik. Ik heb genoeg technische kennis op het probleem te vinden. Repareren is een kwestie van beschikbaarheid onderdelen. Dank voor je reactie

I have not seen any model trains wheelslip at my train club, other than this one kid with a big boy and like 50 cars slipping on a gradient.

I’ve seen a model wheel slip

couple 66 cars to it's behind and open throttle.

Putting grease on the track will make the loco slip too.

Having no traction tires is also important...

The Y6B was actually more powerful than a big boy, because it has more adhesive weight on the drivers, which means they have a higher tractive effort and are less likely to slip.

@@trainknut wasn't that proven wrong by N&W and UP, because I got sources saying the big boys while stronger is only by a small amount as the Y6B is VERY close behind

@@trainknut unless I was provided misinformation of course The Big Boy is still strongest of all time, and still is.

@@KingOp0ssum_II big boy is not the strongest of all time, at best you could say it’s tied with about 4 other locomotives, but realistically at least one of them had to be slightly more powerful due to driver diameter, weight distribution, etc. Y6Bs were lighter but had less axles distributing the weight, and shorter drivers, which gave them more grip to the rail, thereby increasing their tractive effort, but it’s not known how much this would have effected the ability to actually pull tonnage. My guess is the UP 4000s were indeed the strongest under certain specific circumstances, however on a grade they’d still probably be out pulled by a Yellowstone or a 2-8-8-2 due to more weight being distributed over the drivers.

yep, the rest on the rear of the train started rolling, so more weight came on the hook. And the engineer was a little inexperienced as well and pulled the throttle a little to far open.
