Penguin bar in UK is better tim tam copied the UK version
This sounds awesome
@@Sickomode-e5x They were really good! Thanks for watching.
Twix is a UK product. Introduced in 1967, it eventually made it to the USA in 1979. Made by Mars inc. Over here they do a salted caramel twix...delicious! Also available in white chocolate.
@@majorminor3367 Thank you for that correction. I had no idea. I guess I need to do more research before hitting that record button. Thanks for watching!
Cadbury Crunchie is a similar thing to the violet crumble too. They are both great. 😎
@@Danger_Mouse3619 we love the Crunchie. If you scroll back we have a video on the Crunchie.
To be fair i would have that amount or more on my toast. 😎
@@Danger_Mouse3619 Someone else commented that they eat it straight from the jar. I can’t imagine.
I knew how this would go before watching this. 😂 You boofheads put too much on. 😏 Only us ausdies or hardcore Vegemite lovers can have it strong.
@@Danger_Mouse3619 we definitely learned our lesson. I had some Lore a few after filing the video and I used about half as much and I quote liked it. Thanks for watching!
@@rick_thunder it also goes well with a slice of cheese. Just make sure it's lots of butter on hot toast and a light spread. Just imagine it's similar to soy sauce as you only want a bit of it on your food. You would never have a teaspoon of the stuff.
@@Danger_Mouse3619 Thank you. We will definitely try it with cheese. Thanks
Hot chocolate is the drink. And try to just nibble a small bit off..

The next think thing for you try, is a proper Australian coffee. Australian coffee culture is 2nd to none and even our Maccas crafted McCafe for all us coffaholics

So many different caramel flavours too, I like the salted caramel. I used to work at Arnotts biscuits factory about 35 yrs ago, in another state of Australia... the Tim Tam line was the always busy, but they only had original flavour back then.... now... every time I go into the supermarket, I see so many different flavours.
@@Hedriks As Americans it is kind of like Oreo. In American supermarkets there are anywhere between 20 and 25 different versions of Oreo. Thanks for watching!
I am Australian.I ate a Tim Tam once and concluded I value my teeth and a desire to avoid diabetes too much, to ever eat these sugar biscuits again

Vegemite and cheese slice sandwich are popular in Australia
@@jackb5353 I think I will give they a try. Thanks for the idea.
My son's first solids was a fresh vegemite sandwich cut into "soldiers". I think Americans are use to the sweet more than the savoury in their diets. Handy hint, when you may have had a drink too many, a vegemite sandwich the next day gets you up an going because of all the vitamin B in it.
@@suearnold7279 thanks for the hint. Yes, American diets generally have more sweet than savory.
The "G'day mate" in the outro was a better G'day greeting. If I had a choice between the Violet Crumble and Cherry Ripe I would choose the Cherry Ripe, but it's not to everyone's tastes (like Vegemite) P.S. have you thought about putting your videos into playlists? Say by country and or candy/cookie type?
@@SmartHomeHASHTAGS Thank you. I was messing around with an Australian accent, which obviously is not a good one. The suggestion for a playlist is a good one. I like the idea of doing it by country. Thanks for the idea.

It's such a lovely honeycomb. The 'Dark' may be a UK version? Either way, it's going to taste great.

@@chadjcrase That sounds amazing. Here in the U.S. most chocolate bars also have alternative “fun size” packaging. I always joke that if they really wanted to make them fun size then they should make them twice as big.

Kombucha is a fermented drink that’s great for your immune system. Think kimchi, yoghurt, Yakult and other such fermented foods that are healthier for your digestive system.
In America people say, “It’s great for gut health.” I’ll just take them at their word.
Rose Water is a popular ingredient in Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Eastern countries. Turkish Delight is also popular in Asian countries but they call it by different names. In Japan and Taiwan, it’s called Mochi and it’s also made from starch, which produces very sticky balls that need to be kept in powdered starch, just like the Turkish Delight, in order to keep the pieces separated. Mochi have different Japanese fillings such as red bean paste, mung bean paste and lotus root paste. The Turkish version is flavoured with rose water, vanilla, orange, lime, lemon, peppermint etc and sometimes have small pieces of pistachio in them. If you want to see how it’s made, check the channel Refika’s Kitchen, she’s a lovely lady in Turkey who speaks her recipes in English. Also look for videos that make mochi! The desserts are very similar with cultural flair and flavours.
You are a wealth of knowledge. That explanation was extremely helpful. Thank you. I’ll check out Refika’s Kitchen. Thanks.
As soon as you brought the plates into view, my first reaction was, “OH NO!!! THAT’S TOO MUCH!” So I paused the video to type this. If you bite into that, you’ll hate it! Vegemite is an acquired taste and Americans in general, hate it because they spread it on like Nutella, but that’s just wrong! Vegemite needs the tip of the dinner knife with Vegemite equivalent to the size of a green pea, then dab it onto hot buttered toast in as many places as you can before smearing it, and I mean smear! It’s not peanut butter. It’s twenty times saltier than PB. In anticipation, I’m asking you to try it again: hot toast, generously buttered, smear of Vegemite (use a clean knife so you don’t put butter into the Vegemite), then take a bite expecting saltiness. EDIT: Butter mellows the saltiness and is essential. Also milk would be better than water. Americans are used to high sugar content whereas Aussies prefer low sugar and have a preference for savoury flavours. FYI and just for balance, an American friend once sent me all the ingredients to make s’mores and I followed his instructions to the letter. When I took a bite, I was hit with an intense sugar rush and thought I was going to pass out! I decided diabetes was not for me and stopped at the one bite. I wonder how many in the US are walking around with undiagnosed Type 2 Diabetes? You even add a cup of sugar to your bread! Anyway, it’s a cultural difference and I’m glad Rick was willing to give it another go. Use as little as possible, at least until you’re used to it. 😃👍🇦🇺🇺🇸
@@Jeni10 Thank you for that explanation. I had some more a few days ago for my normal breakfast and I used less Vegemite. It was definitely better. I think my taste buds are adjusting to the flavor. However, you are correct, there is nothing in America that tastes like Vegemite. Thanks for watching!
You need to step away from the typical American coffee and add a generous amount of milk to it instead of just black. Milk makes coffee so much better!
@@Jeni10 agreed. Derek puts all kinds of milk or cream in his coffee normally. I generally stay away from coffee. But coffee does taste better with milk.
I think we have different definitions of wafers. Wafers are the flour and water combo that you see for ice cream cones, not the firmer waffle cones, that’s a different recipe although just called waffle cones because they’re made in a waffle iron. Kit Kats are made of multiple layers of wafers with chocolate cream filling between each layer. Another version of wafers is the Italian Pizzelle - google it to see what they look like and what’s in them.
@@Jeni10 I think we got caught using the word “wafer” when we meant biscuit. Those are the hazards of recording these videos in one take. But thank you for the clarification. We appreciate it, and thanks for watching!
These are another great Tim Tam. Other than the name, they definitely look the same as the 'Double Coat' version in Australia. By the way, you still have the Vegemite scores in the description. 😀
