My most expensive build to date! This CNC Bakeneko65 built with Durock Lavenders is a surprisingly light, bouncy, and clacky build. The quality of the keycaps and board as well as the smoothness makes this feel like the cream of the crop when it comes to feeling premium. I'm thinking of buying these switches, but my concern is whether I need high-quality keycaps to achieve that creamy sound. I have a Royal Kludge RK71 keyboard with a foam and tape mod. I'm doubting if the default keycaps will sound this good. If they don't, buying these switches might end up being a waste.

Unfortunately ako v3 cream yellows nowadays are almost always out of stock and apparently someone said they're discontinued. I really wanted them, but because of that I am now chilling with KTT Kang Whites (which are also amazing don't get me wrong, but I like cream yellows better).

would adding a thin layer of dense foam be that same as a tape mod? painters tape seems real improper even though it's popular.

I just finished a GMK67 build around the time you uploaded this video. My first ever custom build. KFA N2O Laughing Gas switches, NovelKeys spellbook keycaps. I did the tape mod, added some extra PE layers behind the pcb, and an additional layer of switch pads. I also replaced the stabs. I'm blown away with how amazing it feels and sounds compared to my old pos ducky mini.

Nice to see you posting another build! This one was great, the lavenders sound super nice! I’m regards to the stabilizer chat, it’s great that you’re posting your passion! ☺️ I just recently started getting into keyboards as a hobby within the last couple months, and I ordered a Epomaker TH80 Pro as my entry point after a good run on my midterms. I hope to do some mods on it eventually, but the Budgeriar switches I got it with and the keycaps included provide a rather nice stock thock.

    • @7xip

That’s awesome! I’ve been thinking about getting some budgeriars to try in a build; seems like you’ve got some pretty good taste for being early in the hobby

@@7xip Thank you!! I've been doing a lot of research, and I'm glad I settled on the budgeriars, bc my board arrived today, and it's amazing. I will mod it eventually, but I'm more than happy with it stock. I was even surprised by the spacebar, a lot of reviewers weren't too happy with it, but I'm honestly not mad at it! Not perfect, but not awful by any means.
