I'm really pleased with this! I don't know how long it will last before the grit wears away, but I wouldn't mind having to replace it every once in a while.

Been researching grinders for a long time and during my months of research the AMK 77 is second to none. I have also heard their customer service is too notch. I am either buying this or the Esteem. Will be calling soon!

Good concept, but plunge lines will be of...I have attempted to modify and fix that problem, nothing to stop the blade from rocking in fixture....have also modified and attempted to fix that problem. This attachment just doesn't function in a way that give an even plunge from ricasso to tip of the blade.

why is the belts looking like they wobble on the wheels when it runs?

It would be great if you could make a attachment that works like this to go on you AMK 77 some how.

To complicated. Just practice hollow grinding until you get it right.

About the most complex and slow one out there......travis system so easy just adjust the table and go

I bought one of these off ebay for $500. The build quality is superb. It replaced a Loray electric. I paid for it in one weekend at a farmers market. My go to for speed is a TruHone. But at a FM this machine allows you to put on a show which to me increases sales. I give a 30 day warranty and it takes me less than a minute per blade. My competion is usually either stones or the paper wheel. I always charge at least $2 more per blade. They dont guarantee their work and I do. If you are wanting to do blade sharpening to make $$, this machine will do it.

Not a hollow grinder. Very useful for precision profiling, finger cut-outs and highly accurate finishing on folding knives. In general, edge grinders are useful for accurate grinds at specific angles. Generally a machine for advanced craftsmen.

I hear alot of frustration in these instructions. Must get alot of phone calls from people when they're setting this machine up. 😂

with a vert grinder you can do the hollow grinding doesn't look like that's possible here on this one

fact is that the angle guide system will result in a variable angle on curved edges. The angle at the tip will be slightly different than at the base. It would still provide the consistency to make a fine edge, of course. It is just that it might not translate well to a field sharpener.

*I got this last week and used it already for pipe making/shaping. It is good for shaping briar blocks for pipes after initial block cutting. The only caveat to be aware of is that the plastic dust cover under the round sanding disk table has a notch which makes it impossible to screw into place - manufacture mis-measure of this specific plastic part. Just received mine. This thing is heavy duty and solid. Best money I've spent in a long time. For a blacksmith/knife maker this is a game changer from hand filing and hand sanding to this. I work 60-70 hrs a week so the time this will save me is invaluable. Thanks Allen for making a reasonably priced quality American made product. God bless
