If you have alcohol ink along with epoxy resin and you are ready to make a tumbler, be sure to try this method. This is a super easy alcohol ink epoxy tumbler that you will love. I can not keep them in stock. Everyone loves this tumbler. If I can do it, so can you! I agree, the blue purple and pink look amazing
This is my 2nd attempt on a cup and when I put the alcohol ink on it separates from the resin and half of my cup is white with bunched up resin and the other half of my cup looks nice I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. Do you have any suggestions??
@@jamiepandagirl7561 it could be the type of resin epoxy you are using. Stay away from fast drying products. I use the regular epoxy resin from www.resinate.ca/ You may get a discount if you use the code NATALIE10
I got fisheyes in the epoxy before I could apply the ink. Any idea what I did wrong?
@@TheKriekable it could be the type of resin you are working with. If it’s a fast dry resin, you won’t have time to apply the ink. I use the regular epoxy resin from www.resinate.ca/ You may even get a discount if you try coupon code NATALIE10
You might need to put coat of protective liquid on them afterwards so they don't chip.
FYI, my local Walmart now has the four-pack of Color Shift on clearance for $11 (regular price is $16). The four-pack is 7501 "Chameleon" with green, purple, aqua, and blue. I am not sure what this means for the future of the Color Shift paint at Plaid or Walmart, but $11 is a great deal if you will use those four colors.
This just looks so fun. I’m so going to do this. How did you get the names on these? I saw the examples at the beginning of the video.
To get the names I would use my cricut to cut out the name in vinyl…. There are several ways you can do it. Either add the vinyl name after you art, or add the vinyl as a stencil before you art then peal the vinyl off. I hope this makes sense.
Yes this does make sense. Thanks for the quick reply@@bimbleDIY
Beautiful!!
Thank you! ☺️
Why not drop the white ink first?
I haven’t tried that! Let me know if you do.. I’d love the see the outcome. ☺️
Just found your channel! I have the turquoise color shift but have not tried it yet. You have inspired me! 😊
I'm also planning on doing these. I've watched lots of videos but I relate to yours and I subscribed. I will be watching all of yours as the days pass. I'm buying my supplies bit by bit for now. I'm a housewife so this way I can help with expenses in our home. I used to do decoupage but I've run out of things to cover in pretty tissue paper 😅love the fact that you said we don't have to use unpainted cups because it's hard to find here in S Africa so I can skip spray painting the cups or travel mugs👌
Thank you for subscribing! I haven’t done any videos in a while. I’m glad you find this one helpful. ☺️
I have the same paints but haven’t tried them yet, now I will soon. Have you used acrylic paint on a tumbler? A tutorial on putting epoxy on tumblers would be helpful since I’m fairly new at them. Thank you.
I’ve only used alcohol inks.. not acrylic paint.
At the beginning of this video you show tumbler that have names. Do you have a video of this process?
Sorry.. no I don’t. The names are cut out with a Cricut and then I use alcohol ink… once dry I peel the name off.
New subscriber here. I just found and bought some of the colorflash paint yesterday, very excited to jump in with some mermaid colors. I really appreciate your structured testing method and qualitative observations . This retired Science teacher approves, and has a garage full of rocks to play with.... I'm actually going to try my first test using the Dollar Tree flat die cuts of fish, moths and beetles. Then I may incorporate the paint into some PVA glue for decoupage projects using pretty napkins.
The green has great coverage! The other two, not so much 😂
I’m looking to paint safety eyes
It's not philosophy it's paint😮
?
I found these paints a few months ago and they are a lot of fun. Such amazing colors.
So fun!
I'm brand new sorry
Where do I get the turn table
Sorry for the late reply. This turner was just a simple tumbler turner from Michaels.
can you tell me the name of your epoxy
Resinate resinate.ca/ Use code Natalie10 for 10% off. Use art resin for slow cure, it will move better on the tumbler.
At what point is it too late to continue adding inks?
In this case ‘less is more’.. if you add too much ink it will all start blending together and turn brown. Keep it simple. ☺️
Did you not put any heat on it such as a heat gun or torch?
I didn’t use heat because I was using a slow-cure Art resin. It takes a long time to cure (dry) so it keeps flowing without heat.
I hate hallmark movies.
Fair. I hope you muted the music 👌🏼
Oh lawdt. This will be my 4th cup to make and I hope this isn't a failure
You can do it!!!
I have a question. I’m not sure if you can help me I’m only done a few of these tumblers. But recently I’ve noticed the top edge is rough. And I’m just wondering how you can smooth it out
I would simply run your gloved finger along the top after applying the resin to smooth it out.
Thanks for video love the tumbler.great option easy to do and never same one.beautiful tumbler
nice love the colors
Thank you for this video❤ When I saw these paints I grabbed them as soon as I could! Didn’t know what I’d use them for but knew I’d find something!!! By the way, you have the most beautifully natural healthy nails. (I’ve struggled. LoL)
Right!?? Soon you will have color shift paint all over your home!
The cup of the cosmos ❤️
how did you avoid the pot holes
Wow I see different places faces weird ones great
And tumbler how u got it moving girl great work
We're wed I get all this stuff aproxi and alcohol ink
should be call Jupiter cause it looks like the eye storm on Jupiter
What is the clear stuff that you are rubbing on the cup
You’re using bare hands??! A respirator but no gloves!
Not bare hands. I used a finger glove on this one. I suggest nitrile gloves. This resin advertises no voc’s… but better safe than sorry 👌🏼
I have tried this method a couple of times and for some reason it feels like the epoxy is thicker in some areas and others like waves or hills and valleys. What am I doing wrong?
The epoxy I use for this is really ‘slow to cure’… it give more working time for this method. You can always add a little heat with a heat gun to get things flowing too… just be careful as it heats quickly!
@@bimbleDIY which one of the resins did you use?
@@bettykadel I’m in Canada so I get the Art Resin from Resinate.ca You can use the Code Natalie10 for a 10% discount 😊
10:22 how do you put a name on it? ❤
The name is added with a vinyl sticker.. then I add one more thin coat of epoxy. ☺️
I've seen a billion types of resin. I'm confused on the exact type of resin to get
Yes.. there are lots of options out there. Use use resinate.ca because they are in Canada, like me.
Where can I buy a tilting motor, can anyone help please 🙏
Wondering the same
No response at all. Never mind i found another person doing the same things and always gives answers
Very satisfying to watch
oh completely kick it! i love the pink and purple also
I love Alcohol inks....Great inspiration....hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙
Thank you Sheryl 💗
brill, on 8min 40 seconds on the video saw a lads face in the orange nr top, its brilll how the inks mix to make patterns even faces
Whoa!! I never noticed that before!!
I have a question! I use self leveling resin which works great but every time I try this method, it dries SUPER wavy and almost unsandable. What am I doing wrong?
Are you leaving the tumbler spinning for the full cure time?
If you are interested in trying the art resin I used in this video... feel free to use my 10% OFF code: NATALIE10 resinate.ca/
What colors does the black color shift paint shift to?!
Gets kind of a gold/bronze flash when the light hits it a certain way... .. its somewhat subtile but on the right project it looks great.
The black rocks really makes the paints pops!❤
Right!!!?
Wow thats really amazing it all looks great
Thank you for watching!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Very helpful, thank you!
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching!
