As a team we have been notoriously bad at beating supposed weaker teams , we have generally had a knack of beating higher placed opposition and getting points there, this season is becoming reliant on us beating lower opposition and that is a very bad place for us to be fighting from. . If we dont beat brentford im afraid we could very likely end the season on less than ten points which will be insane considering the squad we do have . Im more convinced by the day that o neil has to go while there is still plenty of games to turn the situation around . Get moyes in now whilst he is still available because if everton sack dyche moyes will be back there and we will end up with somone like alardyce or rob edwards .

Judah described GON as frantically waving about for the players to pass forward and attack. So if they're following his tactics by passing it around and backwards and playing it safe, but GON's yelling at them to go forward. What gives?

Liverpool fan here, as good as we've looked we've been gifting the opposition chances. Yes it was 3-0 at half-time against Bournemouth but they'd had a bunch of decent chances & on another day they could've scored 2 or 3 goals themselves. So while we start as the bookies favourites no one's thinking it's gonna be an easy game. Barring the Arsenal game you've scored in every match & you drew with Forest who beat us at Anfield. Having said that I've not seen Wolves play this season so I can't really comment on anything other than your results. Good luck lads, may the best team win.

Mosquera's injury has left a massive hole n defence. I wish him strength of mind as he goes through his arduous recovery and hope he comes back stronger. Against Liverpool we need to be pragmatic and play five at at the back, even if we need to stick Lemina in there as well.

Possibly but it so obvious he’s had the Fosun treatment and got shafted, just like every manager before him. He had a clear plan that’s suddenly being denied by Hobbs! It's clear why the team struggles second half. The defenders including the midfield destroyers overperform in the first half because the forwards do little/no defensive work. The other problem is that the forwards aren't scoring nearly enough - only one goal per game. The build-up that the defenders and midfielders do to get the ball into the final third is wasted when the forwards lose possession when they fail to score, which happens over and over again, and the defenders/midfielders come under pressure AGAIN. These players, no matter how good they are, cannot hold up to this sort of battering for 90 minutes. Because of the relentless pressure on them, injuries happen too - eg Mosquera in the last game. GON's strategy is to score a goal and sit back for the rest of the time, depending on defending. That's the perfect game for him. Then when the club inevitably concede and lose the match, GON goes in front of the camera after the game, and blames the defenders for the loss. The way he is going he's going to lose the dressing room, especially the more physical players. The other point is that GON acts like the players are beneath him; they aren't good enough for him. This comes out in post-game interviews. This attitude will also alienate him from the players. The major underlying problem is Gary's ego and vanity. He fancies himself to be an English Pep Guardiola. He even got Man City's set-piece coach and was very pleased with himself over that. So he's been trying to make the players play possession-passing football. And it's not working out. The players aren't suited for it. They are more suited for pragmatic football in Klopp's Liverpool style. The club's strength is the midfield-destroying and re-gaining possession in the midfield. Players like Gomes, Lemina and now Andre are gold in that role. That's why the goals are not coming. GON is trying to fit square pegs into round holes. And why the team keep getting counterattacked. GON also has no plan for how the ball is to be played in the final third and the goal is going to be scored. Like many poor managers, he depends on crosses and passes into the final third that are Hail Marys. But GON is stubborn and egotistical. Some of the Wolves' wins last season have gone to his head. He was given a four-year contract. This plus the fact that he thinks he's responsible for the good performance of the club in the first half of the 23-24 season makes him think he's hot property (and he was the media's darling for a while - there was talk of him being chosen as the NT manager, the Liverpool coach, asked to give a tactics presentation etc). So he's not going to abandon his approach. And it may be too late to change his strategy anyways. Already the morale of the squad is low, and a change of philosophy will make them lose confidence in his leadership even more. So the moral problem boils down to GON's overinflated ego and his self-delusion. Thomas Tuchel did a similar thing to Bayern last season. That season was a disaster for them.

Ait-Nouri is a liability. He is immensely talented and tricky going forward but responsible for multiple goals conceded. The myth that he's eventually going to a CL club for 50 mil needs to stop. Due to his fitness, professionalism, and consistency, no top manager would touch him.

Obviously the premier league is ruthless/unforgiving & your club selling the better players every transfer window isn't gonna get you where you'd like to be, that's a big problem & failing to replace the players that leave could cause you to loose far more than the sales bring in if you go down,but hopefully that won't happen & there's plenty of games left to pick up valuable points. Wolves did well in the first half,but a few changes by Emery,some good substitutions & a very stern talking too at the break apparently got the Villa boys into gear & I believe we dominated the 2nd half showing our quality & looked far more like the side that's been doing well under Unai Emery the key reason why we're flying high nowadays,what he's done at Villa is incredible & he is truly an elite manager with in game management second to none, good luck with your upcoming fixtures Wolves fans..... up the fuck'in Villa!!! 😁⚽✌️

Sa awful, Ait-nouri what was he doing and Hee - Chan I think he's somewhere else at the moment. If we are going to continue with a back 4 then changes in personnel are needed. A new goal keeper CB LB Winger I know that's quite a shopping list and I'm going to make it more difficult the way forward is a mixture of the young and those with Premier League experience. If we want to compete at the premier league level that's what is required and Fuson are going to have to give Hobs and Gary O'Neal the money to do their jobs. Gary has been from day one trying to do a good job with what's available, while his best players are auctioned off. This is the reason the 3 previous managers all left lack of investment, yes even Lage..

RAN simply ISN’T a LB, never has been, LWB all day long where he can push on and create. The four doesn’t work with current personnel…. Toti can’t do it, RAN can’t do it and every PL team is WISE AF to it after just two games. Many positives though, let’s not get too lost in the doom n gloom, we’re a good side that simply needs defensive strengthening/restructuring….. the exact opposite of what we’ve Been in previous seasons.

Well, what a game that was. Much to like about the first half performance (exhilarating, edge of the seat stuff) and yet sadly MUCH MORE to learn overall. I’m honestly trying not to be too disheartened as I think we’re gonna see off a lot of teams off this season, we just DESPERATELY need to sort the defence out. We’ve gone from being relatively strong defensively and having ZERO goal threat to vice versa. The positives - We finally have a proper No 9 again and he was loving it, it’s great to see. Feed Larsen and we’ll be banging goals in double quick. Cunha is/was on fire again, Lemina strong in nearly every respect, Gomes too did his job for the most part as always and as far as first half football goes, it was exciting end to end stuff. The negatives - Defensively we’re an absolute MESS, an absolutely diabolical SHAMBLES and whilst the four is definitely enabling us to create and attack more we simply haven’t got the personnel to accommodate it IMO (not against the quality Chelsea have at their disposal anyway). They showed the quality they’ve amassed at great expense and as good as we were in the first half, our PENNY PINCHING will NOT have us even remotely competing with the likes of that. Toti cannot play it, it’s as simple as that. We appear to be effing about in the market again, O’Shea to Ipswich, Carmo to Forest, where the F are we getting a quality and ideally PL proven CB from? We’re being linked with every winger on the planet and yet our one REAL glaring issue since Kilman went is DEFENCE. Toti for me wasn’t great again, not good enough, he simply can’t handle the four, RAN too who was probably worse TBH even stood off the one goal and we were/are just so, so WEAK on that left side and every PL team will already know it. They’ve battered us, absolutely battered us and it is what it is but we seriously need to PRAY there’s something cooking for the defence before this window closes because in a four, that team is totally unbalanced.
