I have the IVT one. Nevertheless , if you switch the car to neutral in bumper to bumper traffic , there will not be any heating issues with the DCT MODEL as well. If you won’t do it, heating issues will be there in any car with DCT/DSG transmission. Hope this helps.

@@bhascar Hey thanks for the reply. Bumper to Bumper traffic is when the car has to creep/crawl and I believe that is where the heating takes place in the DCT. How does your IVT handle the traffic? MY driving is less but I don't think I should get a car wherein I will have to think before taking the car out. At the same price, I have an option of Creta SX (O) IVT variant. What say?

@@pramodlivz you are correct. The heating issue is seen when you are at a stop for more than 15-20 seconds and you have kept your foot on brake keeping the car in D mode. I Shift the gear to N as soon as my car comes to a hault and back to D as soon as traffic starts moving. I have never seen any heating issues in Pune's bumper to bumper traffic. The IVT is definitely a better option if you have to drive more in the city. It is very smooth in city. You will find some rubber band effect on the highway though if you go hard on the accelerator. If you are gentle on the accelerator, there is hardly any rubber band effect. Plus there are paddle Shifters for quick overtakes if needed. Go with the DCT if your running is more on the highway. The fuel efficiency of IVT is 10-12 in heavy traffic and can give you around 16-18 on the highway if you are cruising between speed of 80-100km/hr. Creta & Seltos are more or less same car with Seltos getting some additional gimmick like heads up display and Creta getting advantage of better suspension for rear seat comfort. With Creta you will get better network of service center but that being said KIA's service is also good. Design will be a personal choice and you can go with either of them based on your choice and you won't regret. Do not forget to test drive Creta or Seltos's exact model that you will be finalizing and make sure you drive 5-10 km for that test drive. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

@@pramodlivz manual is always good as long as your knees don't hurt pressing the clutch in bumper to bumper traffic. According to me, I would always prefer an automatic car if I am spending more than 15 lacs. The future will be of automatic cars so you would also get better resale for an automatic car may be 5-7 years down the line.

I have done PPF as my car is black. Ceramic is useful as it will keep the paint like new and will help avoiding swirl mark. You may want to check with the provider about number of services/years included the ceramic package. Ceramic Coating will not save the car from stone chipping and minor scratches. I would recommend to get PPF for hood and front bumper and ceramic Coating for remaining panels. Hope this helps.

Auto hold will only work if you are in D mode. If you are in N, you will have to use parking brake. I would recommend to Switch to N from D if you are idle in traffic for more than 20 seconds .

Car is comfortable for 5 people. Go with Creta if you would be more on the back seat. For self driving , I feel Seltos is better. Seltos has slightly stiff suspension when compared to Creta. Resale value of Creta will also be better. I am using petrol IVT , returns average of 16-17kmpl on highway and 12-14 in city. In bumper to bumper traffic, expect 10-12 kmpl. Not been to Ladak, but have driven on different ghats in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat. No problems related to ground clearance. Hope this is helpful.

Yes, you can. You just have to press the + shifter. The car will not upshift if the speed in not right for the next gear.

Yes you can. In face it will give you a better driving experience provided you know when to upshift or downshift using paddle shifters based on your speed.

If you don’t want to drive like an enthusiast in steep mountain, let the car be in D and change the drive mode selector to Sports from Normal mode. Changing to sports mode keeps vehicle RPM around 2000 rpm thus you won’t feel much lag. Going downhill you can use manual mode if the downhill is over steep or else just being on the brakes does the job. You can use paddle shifters for overtaking in ghats if needed. Hope this helps.

@@bhascarbut would you suggest to just keep the car in Neutral (N) and let it roll downhill and control using brake only? Is it advisable to do that with an automatic car without any chance of tyres locking/losing control?

I have HTX IVT. It gives around 12km/l in city and 16-18 km/ l on highway. These averages are with light foot driving .

No, you would need to press the brake while shifting from neutral to drive mode and vice versa .
