I wish a lot of AniTubers would focus on things outside of mainstream Shonen with the occasional mainstream Seinen. I wouldn't mind the focus on modern anime, if there was variety.

I personally don't think Touga really liked Utena. She was just someone he couldn't seduce. Though he did get much better in the end, because he caught onto Akio's schemes and games. He realizes rhat Akio isn't someone to be admired. He realizes that Akio is actually a terrible person, and Touga seems to be taking steps to fix himself.

Ngl though, while the story beats are pretty much the same between both versions, I still prefer the DNT version of Yang bc, while he still firmly belives in democracy more than anyone else, he is shown MUCH earlier on being critical of it and the reality that he faces.... even if he is still far too passive for his own good.

@Spirit Chaser Also being in a comatose like state would be pretty agonizing for anyone. Even if you had someone take care of you. It's sad how Carlos is unable to live his life to the fullest like Joe . All the more heartbreaking that Carlos is lost and homeless without someone by his side. I can't help but feel great pain for Carlos, since Joe isn't there anymore with him. And I can't imagine the pain the kids of the slums and Danpei as well as Nishi are going through from loosing Joe . It's honestly a beautiful tragedy. And is the sad reality of boxing . While passion is a beautiful and inspiring thing, fighting comes with a price. There's consequences to fighting .

His works went beyond the scope of anime and animation as a whole. He was a genius and a gift to the film industry. Paprika showed us the limits of quality that we known of Satoshi Kon. But if he lived longer, like with Dreaming Machine, I know he would’ve been so much bigger.

This is one of the most based videos i have ever seen in a while, anime communities are notoriously known for being just absolute bad or degenerate, but no one speaks positively about positive fan bases like the Ashita No Joe one.. Great Video..

I have often thought that Tomino had two major themes in his works: 1) The cost of war's brutality meant there were no true winners, just survivors. 2) Child Soldiers were one of the most tragic parts of warfare and paid the highest cost. Pity that many modern versions of his franchises like Gundam have seemed to forget this (i.e Gundam Build)
