First straw bale
Просмотров 61Год назад
First test of a very old baler (1962) I repaired. Originally from an Alaska Menard family homestead just a 1/2 mile from my home. Senator Linda Menard gave it to me if I moved it off her homestead. It had sat unused so long it was covered in lichens, missing PTO shaft, and needles. Now it produces a nice bale again. Next will be replacement of worn bearings and repaint.

Restoration of my G706 Minneapolis-Moline that was left for dead on the beach with a front wheel that fell off from lack of maintenance. It was used to push and pull boat trailers in and out of the water on the beach. It was completely trashed, but I wanted a tough project. Four years later the old girl looks and is mechanically good as new. All so-called refurbished parts from the lower 48 wer...

What a Beautiful Restoration! She looks Fresh from the showroom floor. Great Job. I just recently bought an M602, and just doing enough to make her mechanically sound. my intentions is to leaver her in her work clothes. I have posted a few videos on my channel, if you want to take a look. None of the original gauges worked, so I'm in the process of getting all new ones installed, and functioning.
Excellent video, I'm so excited to work on the Coleman in my '39 International, this helps a lot.
What is the ratio on the colman axle on a G706 moline?
I have no idea. When I fire up the tractor later this spring. I,ll jack up the front. Spin the tires/drive shaft and figure it out.
Nice!
Awesome, love molines
Hello, I am in need of a power yoke and compensator ring. Would it be possible to get information of the guy you got them from? Thank you
Mike Ahlers (507) 360-6748 He has his business number publicly advertised. I don’t think it’s a problem to help spread his advertising’s. He is the only place that I found that has Coleman parts. Good luck.
Wow good job like video hello from Bali Indonesia 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for subscribing. I will post videos of my tractors beginning this spring in May throughout the summer.
@@moplum your are welcome 🙏🙏🙏
Hi James. Can you share who made the rubber inner and outer wheel seals for you? I’m working on a much smaller Coleman axle on a 3/4 ton truck. I don’t expect that I’ll be able to find the parts, so I want to be prepared with suppliers when the time comes. Thank you for any info or advice you can share and thank you for these very informative videos.
thanks for the question. I used a local hydraulic shop to place the order for the custom seals. I later found I can do it myself. Timken.com is who I recommend. Timken has a form you fill out with all your required specifications.that easy. They do have a page with pictures of all the seal material design types to choose from. (Timken seals type SLE custom). I also have had smaller custom seals made for steering gear box at AVXseals.com. If Timken isn't who you want to use, AVXseals.com is also a great place to get seals. I hope this helps you out.
@@moplum Thanks very much James. I also sent you an email with similar questions and a link to the old international Harvester trucks I’m into, if you’re interested. I would welcome any and all advice on Coleman parts suppliers that might help me with the Coleman equipped truck we’re about to start working on. Thanks again. Loved your videos!
What new parts did you get from Agco? I have a 65 G705 and I couldn't get a lot of parts from Agco. Also did yours have a cab on it? And were the block heaters tough to put in? Thanks, it looks great! Hope to paint mine sometime
Engine parts: rings and valves from AGCO. All other parts were from eBay, NAPA, All States AG Parts, Bill Williams, etc. The block heaters were very easy to install. BUT beware most all advertised are the wrong ones. I got mine at O'reillys Auto Parts. It was a real trial and error to get the correct part number. Steiners, ASAP, and the rest all have the wrong ones advertised. I gave them the correct number, but I still see the wrong ones listed on all online sites. I'll post the correct ones here tomorrow. Yes I still have the cab. It is in the picture in my shop. I have it on a stand waiting restoration in the future.
The correct block heater part number is 3100038 mfr is zero start.
@@moplum sweet, thanks. What was the reason you found for the ones from Steiner and other suppliers that made them not work? I would only see a problem of them sticking in to far and hitting the cylinder walls.
@@bigford1578 the freeze plugs on this engine are disc. Most other freeze plugs today are cup type. The disc freeze plugs boss is very shallow. The incorrect heaters are for deep recessed cup type heads. The correct heaters are for the disc type freeze plug heads shallow hole. If you get the correct heaters the Oring will seal nicely. The incorrect heaters the Oring won't go in the hole. I have pictures if you need a visual. I can try and post them, just ask.
@@moplum ok, I can see what your talking about. I ordered the correct ones from O'Reillys. Hope to get them installed this summer. I also hope to find a new coolant hose from the water pump to the inlet water manifold. The one that is tapered. That's the only one I couldn't get when I had the engine apart.
Thank you for making this series of videos. I am in the process of rebuilding the wheel ends on my G-40-H tug, and there are a couple of mistakes that I will not make thanks to you.
If I may, do you have dimensioned drawings of the seals you put on this machine? May I have a copy? I need wheel seals for my machine.
I have the dimensions for the inner & outer seals. I have part number listings that were current and active as of 2018. I have a cross section drawing scanned for the seal configuration (Timken seals type SLE custom). I apologize for the delay in replying. I don't check my comments often as I should. send me your email address to: moberly.james@yahoo.com and I'll email you the info if you still need it.
Great job Jim. I know you’ve put a lot of time and hard work to bring this one back. Can’t wait to see the next part
More to come!
Wanted to see it from the side.
I will this next State Fair
I'll come work on your farm.
Great series of videos. I need to do bearings in the future on my G706. Thanks for taking the time to video the process. Will help a lot.
Thanks for the kind words
