Front Car Seat problem Cannot Move Forward Or Backward? Help Car Seat position stuck. Can't drive?
Is your car's front seat stuck and won't move forward or backward? This can be a serious issue, especially if the seat is stuck in a position that makes driving impossible. In this video, I explain a common but often overlooked problem with the electric seat adjustment mechanism.
The culprit? A small rod underneath the seat that can break, often due to an excess of items being stored under the seat. But don’t worry-this is an easy 5-10 minute fix that could requires almost no tools! Instead of replacing the entire seat or spending a fortune, you can head to a scrap yard and salvage this part from another seat. In some place it may be also free if it can fit into your pocket. Unfortunately,...

That being said, on our other trips that wasnt always the case. We have to find a way to improve our indoor so that we can sleep 4 people, (and 1 cat). Also having some bathroom facilities, drawers, ability to cook / eat etc......

    Oh my gosh, Its a hard no. That poor boy laying like his in a box, what if someone wants to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, all 4 of you got to do that dance, please do better, this is not for people with children. I'm hurting watching this. no matter how creative you think it is.

      Luckily our kids does not have to go to the bathroom during the sleep. And we always find a spot with some bathroom. So that ended up not being a problem at all for us. On a side note, our children asked to go to vancouver that way, because they enjoyed the other trip's. But indeed, it is a tight space. The idea is only to show to other people that it can be possible even with 4 people in some ways, if it can work for them. It is not for everyone indeed, but for us we have awesome memories from these trips.

      Agreed, I've been looking to get something bigger. Falling for a Ford-Transit or something..... but we find these expensive. Overall beside bigger bed, and more room (ability to walk indoor). We dont see how we could bring as much stuff in a bigger van. I guess that will be for a future chapter maybe in a year or two! :)

    • @5inSUVtraveling

      It would definitely help, but i believe we would not be able to have a cargo box. Plus, we like the fact that we can sleep everywhere (ex: we slept in the SUV in North Vancouver in the town where we were allowed to park for the night) in a stealth fashion. But indeed if you do not need the stealth factor a rooftop tent make sense, though its way more expensive than a bunch of wood.

    So many cool ideas, I like how you figured this out by yourself, the only thing that terrifies me is those pegs sticking up next to your children’s seats, in a bad accident or roll over, those pegs could make contact with your children’s faces or heads which would have horrible consequences. Reconsider that storage location please and thank you 🙏

    • @5inSUVtraveling
      @5inSUVtraveling 27 дней назад

      Agreed, security wise there are a lot of flaws. In our 3rd version we will improve these element to make sure its secured. The idea was to screw them permanently, so they can't move and on a side note we have other pillows that is usually on each side of the kids (over the wood). In the event of an accident the head would hit the pillow...... That being said, I'm happy we did not had any accident 🙏, you got a valid point, and security is important.

    • @5inSUVtraveling
      @5inSUVtraveling Месяц назад

      Agreed thanks for the input. We will definitely look at roof tent at some point. Note we also have tent and inflatable mattress, Our initial idea was to do a lot of camping with the tent + 2 person in the SUV. But being able to sleep indoor, if we do not find camping area (ex: in Banff we had no pre-booking made). That being said, the kids and us preferred to sleep indoor as it was easier to setup, and we had enough room. I understand it might not work for everyone though. As for the roof tent, we like the fact that it can be stealthy(ish) and we preferred to use a cargo box at the top to bring stuff, to make the indoor more spacious while driving even though if it was packed. In the end, it worked for us and for sure if we continue travelling this kind of way we would need more space as the kids are getting older :D

    • @SMafam5
      @SMafam5 25 дней назад

      Pop up tents like gazelle to me are more flexible than roof tents for as kids grow. Cargo trailer conversions offer very budget options if you are willing to tow. Even 6’ wide by 10’ feels luxurious but with your Tetris skills even 5x8 would feel heavenly.

    • @5inSUVtraveling
      @5inSUVtraveling 28 дней назад

      @@christinewood8331 a tent for 4 of us would definitely works. That being said, we are the kind of people that doesn't book stuff in advance. We prefer freedom, and go as we feel / find stuff on our route... We try to find Public Land (BLM) (Free camp sites), while being respectfull of the environment. For us setting up the 'bed' takes less than 5 minutes, and same to undo the bed. Having a tent would take way more time. Plus we 'stealth' slept in various area (New York, North Vancouver, ...) where a tent would be hard to setup. But definitely, we do bring a tent in the cargo box, and use it if we find a campground with available sites.
