Makay is a Brooklyn based producer with a passion for EDM, but has dabbled in other genres too. Makay started out making instrumentals for singers and co-produced Viktoria Liv's "Side Notes" EP as well. He's heavily influenced by genres like Deep House and Progressive House in his work; however, he thoroughly enjoys IDM, Electro House, and indie/alternative music as well. He plans on continuing to strive for unique sound design and interesting production methods to further his musical career with an intense focus on creating original songs that stand out from any norms and standards.

I first learned about paulxstretch from videos by Venus Theory and S1gnsOfL1fe. Their approaches were fantastic but focused through the lens of producing the ambient *genre*. The angles you present here are sick! Quite a different perspective 🤌 I'm definitely going to have to torture some wav files tonight 😂

just the stock ableton one, but it’s a preset called Berlin! I know I tweaked it after putting it on though.

Great video! Is there any reason why you decided to put the Timbre Resynth device on the Omnisphere track, and not the vocal track? Since this is the backwards from what the dev recommends? That said, I love the sound you achieved. I'm just trying to learn this device more deeply!
I believe the recommendation is actually to feed a monophonic signal into the input of Timbre Resynth to control a polyphonic channel! In that example, the vocal is a single monophonic input being routed to Timbre and the saw chords are the polyphonic channel being manipulated by the monophonic vocal!
To quote the device, “Timbre Resynth expects a monophonic signal for its timbre input”, and that’s why I have a monophonic vocal running into the input!

yeah i know he’s taken a lot of inspiration from the 1975 too, his track Holding U is very similar to Yeah I Know by The 1975. Likewise with his song You’ve Changed My Mind & the 1975’s Frail State of Mind.

Drums are immensely simple on this WIP, only 3 tracks! You're primarily hearing a loop from a pack called "90s Garage Tools Volume 8" by Jeremy Sylvester, the other 2 layers are a field recording of my printer that I chopped up lol & a few shuffly percs i put at the end of every 2 measures.
