It hit me years ago, when I was young, how much I loved cars and working on them. I quickly came to realize how valuable it was to have good information about how to fix them and people to learn from who had more experience than I did. I depended on my car to get me around town, to work, out on dates and it opened up a world of fun for me and I hope it does you. DrCars is dedicated to helping everyone who loves cars and speed to keep them running great and if they don’t then how to fix them. Enjoy the journey…DrCars

How I fixed my squeaky front suspension the easy way.
Просмотров 157 тыс.4 года назад
When you have a front suspension squeak it often means the suspension bushings have dried out and become worn. Certain model vehicles have this problem. If the only issue is a squeaky sound that drives you crazy, give this solution a try. can I install this on a 2022 f350?
Where were the tow hook bolts located? Do you have a vid of that??
Thanx. Just sprayed on struts top mounts..no more noise when turning left or right. 2007 Lexus rx350.
This was actually helpful, as it reassured me that the removal (and replacement) was not complicated. For that, thank you. But, the video could have been SO MUCH better - comments about having somenone to hold the camera have already been made. Why not identify the socket size(s) you used? They are different for the different bolts. Slowing down to identify WHICH bolt to remove first would have been helpful - the bracket is attached in 3 places - the video skipped over that. I really can't complain too much - it was free, after all. But, I am now tempted to do a video as I replace my bumper, simply to make it actually usefiul.
Could any1 send me the fuel line diagram of a 700 cc turning great just not geting fule im wondering would any1 be able to help would be nuch appreciated thanks
I wish there was a car wash that did a lubricant under the vehicle
Using the subtitles, is saying "applause" when your impact engaged.. I agree, lol. Well done, good editing. Thank you for the quick refresh.🇺🇸
You didn't show shit
Can you use wd40 silcone on top strut mount?
how long 1 spray last? before u need re apply another spray?
I usually spray all my suspension parts down once every couple months
Periodically liberally spray all rubber compoents underneath with 303 Protectant .
Can't hear anything in this video. Might be great advice but can't hear it. 🤦
Please We Have To Repent And Give Our Life To JESUS CHRIST ❤️🙏 He's Worthy To Be Praised 🙏
No we don't and no he? doesn't
Huh. Sounded like your High speed screw was off. Glad you got it sorted. 9/10 the speed screws are just not dialed in.
Wow, if your going to do a video, get someone to hold the camera, and pause and rack the zoom a bit so you can get perspective on the vehicle. Also Hold the reference shot more than several seconds. Inside the fender well camera work is horrendous, especially with the go pro hand holding, flopping around and getting upside down. Tried viewing several times and it’s frustrating. Re do the shots, editing out some of the mess. Trying to not be super critical but man....
Why don't you do a video if you don't like this one?
Nobody has to listen to me....keep it the way it is.....not a problem.
If you make such a video, gotta use some LIGHT
Just curious , I see the oil pump is disconnected , are you running premix or did you attach it back on later ?
Yes, I always want to make sure I'm getting oil to the engine and don't want to worry if the oil pump fails and trashes the motor.
Imma get some today
Just curious. My suv makes a weird rubbing sound only when i turn. Im thinking its a rubber bushing but u said yours makes a squeeking sound. I've taken it to a couple mechanic shops and dont know where the sound is coming from . Anyone maybe might know wut it is?
Mine was a squeaking sound for sure, not a rubbing sound at all. If it only happens when you turn it sounds like a rubbing issue. Put your spare tire on the side that is rubbing and see if it goes away. If it does go away or gets quieter then you may have a tire issue.
Could be wrong tire size possibly. I had that issue were the shop put the wrong size on. Just slightly larger than my original tires and it was rubbing for years. I thought it was something wrong with my turning or something but turned out to just be wrong tire size.
Front struts top mounts needs some spray or replace the mounts. Easy check: one person turning steering left and right...other person looking at strut upper part ...the coil spring turning on rubber mount makes noise...
Be sure to do this on a level area. Part of my driveway (closest to my garage) has a swale in it. Had to later re-park my Excursion on level ground...loosen everything back up, manipulate the bumper with wooden wedges and stuff to re-align it with everything and then re-tighten....no biggie really, but just let'n ya know. A couple of those bendable tabs on the nuts are a pain too... but ya gotta have'm. Thanks Doc. P.S. That front tire mount may be practical for your situation but it's fugly!
10 grand
Thank you very much for this.
What your circling is not the fuel pump it's on the other carburetor that has the pulse line connected to it
Yes. Its number 21 on the pic.
That was cool. Been thinking of adding a winch to my truck but would want to use from either front or back, or not at all. So a receiver mount winch would be a great option as long as I add a receiver mount like this. Don't need a 15k lb. winch, 5k or so would do. Thanks for the info.
So you need it to be silicone spray not the regular spray
Yes
Only bad thing is you lose your fog lights.
Wd40 is abrasive and degrades rubber, don't do this ffs
🤦♂️He’s using wd40 silicone spray not regular wd40. Silicone is 100% safe for rubber.
Lol 😂 clueless
U look stupid now
So simple. I'm almost embarrassed that I looked for a video on how to do it.
The squeaking is an indicator of a part gone bad spraying lubricant is like putting a band-aid on a gunshot wound replace your parts people 🤦♂️
Maybe you can help me out… I have a 2018 Toyota Yaris that when I am backing out of a parking space and turn my steering wheel all the way to the right the screeching noise is like fingers on a chalkboard. I’m extremely broke right now so is there anything I can do until I can afford to take it to a shop?
Good job $Moneybags.
Not true at all.
Wrong
Not necessarily
i saw in another video to use White Lithium Grease. creates long-lasting heavy-duty lubrication
White lithium is bad for rubber parts and bushings. So avoid using it on them. Use silicon lubricant instead.
Would the wd 40 gel lube works too or no?
Super helpful to see you do it .. thanks man!
Where did you get that chrome bug deflector? I want one
Excellent video. Thank you for this. Got my bumper off in less than 10 minutes because of the easy to follow instructions. Thank you again very much!!
Glad it helped
Thanks for posting. Nice to know what is up next and that its easily doable.
thank you
I spray my car suspensions with WD40 silicon spray. It is most noticeable when I spray the sway bar bushing and one of my car starts squeaking like crazy and the other car will squeak when stationary with engine on which heat up the rubber and make it squeak. So I think silicon spray is not ideal for rubber then.
Difference between wd40 and silicone spray. Wd40 is a no go for suspension but regular silicone spray is good for rubber like cv boots. Not gonna fix it but just lube, if it’s already squeaking chances are no amount of lube will fix if
@DreamyLoFiMusic3502 They make a wd40 silicone version thats what they meant they used which silicone is meant to be safe for rubber
Getting some today!
ATP AT-205-RE SEAL Is what works even better... Suspension bushing's and balljoints, window track. Swells seals in engine, transmission and Power Steering system even... And IT WORKS!
cant find ATP 205 anywhere! supply chain issues :(
Amazon UK don't sell it
Is it safe for rubber, like new modern car bushings polymer
I think when RUclipsr’s exposed it helps bushings an rubber it was taken off the market. I’ve searched for it all over an can’t seem to find it any place. So in its place I’ve decided to use white lithium grease.
Tire will block airflow not a good idea.
It actually doesn't impact cooling temp at all. Have run truck hauling 3000 pounds with and without the tire mounted with no change in cooling temp.
Its been done for many decades. Not an issue unless you already have cooling issues on your rig.
On my 1998 waventure I did the same and rebuilt the carbs as well, after I assembles it and put it back together I took it out and it would still bog down at high speeds but I noticed if I idle it with the primer pushed in fully it would start and then as I accelerate and I slowly pull out the primer it would go at higher speeds just fine. I’ve done some research but can’t seem to find any new information on how I can get the carburetor to work without me having to mess with the primer. 👍
iv had mine off n on 4x on my 700 xl, rebuikt , different pop off pressures, fuel pump rebuild, mixture screw adjustments, i cant get the pos to work rite im sellin er gettin a 4?stroke
10,000? Idk how replacing 4 or 5 parts in your front suspension will cost 10 grand. Yea that spray is great
You've never been to firestone
Believe it or not, some of us own multiple vehicles... So 10 grand is about right... Just one inner tie rod replaced was $570 , most front ends have 2 inner and 2 outer tie rods, at east 2 ball joints, 2 struts , 2 lower control arms , and 2 sway bar end links, plus all of the bushings... That's a minimum of 12 + parts to wear out on each front end, some vehicles have closer to 20 parts involved in the front steering and suspension... In today's economy, ya 10 grand sounds in the ballpark especially if you have multiple vehicles.
Hot tip, Spray then sell lol
I had a problem on my Audi A3 I changed the suspension I changed a few bushes and the problem never went away,All of a sudden I had a problem with bank one exhaust temperature sensor. The guy had to remove my subframe so I bought brand-new subframe bolts he’s put everything back together and I have no more squeaking. I believe it’s something to do with the subframe bolts.
Thanks Good video just had a hard time hearing you! Thanks again!
You didn't show how you removed the front tow hooks, that seems like a tricky part of the process. Would have liked to have seen that process.
Agreed! Can’t figure it out!
Tow hooks come off easy with a few bolts. Take bumper off first to see them.
You need to talk a little louder or more into the mic could hardly hear what you're saying
Put on shocks too?
What im jumping on tomorrow on 2010 prius, especially attacking control arm bushing first
good video, thanks for the info!
What bolts need to stay in if you just want to slide the bumper down for a headlight swap
lol im about to do this rn
