Japanese Chisel Box
Building a fancy box for my Japanese Chisels. I like the one my old set came with and these nicer ones need a little place to sit into my tool box. No fancy tools or wood. Made out of Ambrosia maple scraps and finished in Danish Oil and paste wax rubbed with 0000 steel wool.

Simple Nightstand Build with Dovetails

Very simple in design design with some traditional joinery like hand-cut dovetails, and exposed through tenons. The drawer is simple as can be, with some screws and wood plugs. Finished in Danish Oil.

Nice work
@@GlassonDesignStudio thank you I appreciate it!
real japanese tool/chisel box have sliding lid, not this worst lid.
とてもいい!
Most impressed that you did the mortise for the through tenon by hand, rather than setting up a jig and using guide bushings on your palm router. The sign of truly hand worked fine furniture. Clean lines, simple, and elegant. Beautiful piece. Cheers from Chesbrough Cabinetry.
Appreciate it, thanks for the kind words! Honestly I’ve found by the time you set up the jig for the router you could have cut 2-3 mortises already haha
@@TRVWoodworks no doubt, but the whole reason behind some people using it is to avoid ugly gaps because their hand skill isn't quite there yet, not to increase their efficiency over time
Truly awesome creation 👍👍

@@TRVWoodworks Thanks! I really appreciate that. Just starting to get into this RUclips thing and that is maybe one of the most motivating things to hear (the inspiring people to get into the shop bit)!
Nice work! I’m thinking about making a new one and I like the size and lines on yours
Thanks so much! Send me a message with a pic when you’re done, would love to see it! Aren’t the handles on most store bought ones so clumsy and uncomfortable?
