FARM CHORE Mowing the Fields in Late Summer with a Kubota L3901 and Land Pride Flail Mower
We use a flail mower in the late summer to maintain our fields. Mowing controls weeds and brush and helps distribute seeds and break down organic matter. Mowing in late summer minimizes the impact on our animal habitats, such as nesting birds and insects. We use a Kubota L3901 Tractor and a Land Pride 60-inch flail mower.

Learn to repair a garden house with a wire clamp tool. In this video, I used a Clamptite CLT01L to make the stainless steel clamp. I had some trouble with the auto-focus for this video, but I think the key information is still usable, so I am posting it anyway. Hopefully, it is not too distracting. HOW TO Re-shape 30" Market Garden Beds
Просмотров 1412 года назад
I share how we re-shape our 30" market garden beds as we prepare for the 2022 growing season. As you add compost to the beds and woodchips to the paths, beds can shift and become uneven, making it more challenging to maintain, plant and harvest while also causing an untidy appearance.

Great video, thanks. I just bought a used L3901 and noticed my float is at the line, so I knew I needed to do this but wasn't sure where the air vent was. Definitely am not going to be putting my fuel cap on the seat though, small kids are milling about and will take that and make it disappear lol.
Thanks for the how to video, I need to do this today on my new kubota, instructions were a little vague in the owners manual
Glad it helped!
You are going to have problems when winterizing the system: the female threaded fitting is too close to the valve box. I would try make make an L up toward the cover of the valve box so it could be better for you to hook up the compressor hose fittings.
Not sure exactly what specific part you mean but there are a bunch of access points then I blow it out with a Master Blaster (metrovac.com/products/air-force-master-blaster), I know it is not conventional but it is something I have already and it let's me open up an end then blow all the way down that line. The blower is strong enough to easily empty our full irrigation lines so before winter, all the lines were fully drained and the pump was filled with RV water line anti-freeze for potable water systems. To add a bit more safety to the pump sensors, there is also a water line heater around key components in the pump box.
Ok, now I think I know what you might be talking about... the grey fitting at the edge of the valve box... that is not a female couple, that is a quick connect union which can be disconnected with zero clearance. I just open release the outer ring in the fall and all the water drips out then I can close it back up. Elliott will love having sheep to keep company❣️
Awesome garden!
Thanks!
Sheep will be a blast! They are so very sweet!
This sophisticated irrigation system sure makes keeping the farm healthy and happy so much easier!
Nice!
Love that tractor! Giving it hard earned TLC.
Hurray and high praise to the almighty Power Grid! Congratulations to Jason on getting results, thanks to dogged determination to achieve connection 🍾
Something that may help when burying lines. Backfill 6” then put down flagging tape(they make some specifically for this purpose) and then finish backfilling. If you are digging in the future you should hit the tape first and know there is a line underneath. Hope this helps. Good luck with the farm!
What's the altitude and the growing region where you're at Jason?
We are at around 680 ft. elevation in Western WA, USDA Zone 8.
The new camera set up is nice. Good job
Your preparations paid off. That must be satisfying.

Never seen a climbing rose. Maybe not able to handle a Minnesota winter. Thanks for sharing!
I'm even farther behind. Have not yet even bought any land. I'll be looking forward to watching your progress this year.
We always feel behind. I think that's natural. Each week, put a piece of paper on the fridge. Everyday add to the list of what you've accomplished. At the end of the week you'll see all you've done! It's probably a LOT!
Great video! I'm jealous that you're working in the soil! It'll be months before we're out there! Your location looks beautiful! Cheers from Minnesota!
Thanks! Yes, we can work the soil here year round as long as it is not too soggy but due to the lack of light you can’t really grow anything till later Feb or march and even then it is pretty slow till April. Anything you do plant out just stalls.
Nicely done, Jason.
Thanks!
Best video yet!
Practice helps for sure!
Good job👍
Thanks! It was fun hiking around the farm in the snow.
Two of my favorite flowers, Carli and Elliott ❣
Looks serene.
Yes! The snow makes it very quiet too:-)
I hope all the plants survive the cold!
Me too, won't know for sure for some of them till spring.
Very informative. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to more.
