Hey there! My name is Jimi Sweet, and I’m a full-time freelance photographer in New York City. Right now I’m primarily focused on real estate, architecture, and interior design photography.
I work with residential and commercial real estate agents, architects, and builders to photograph homes and offices in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. I’ve also photographed homes in Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, and Jamaica.
I moved from Cleveland to New York City in 1998, and currently live in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. I’m the father to two adult sons that I adopted when they were teens. My sons no longer live with me, but I do have three cats and two freshwater planted tanks.

Headed up to the generically-named neighborhood of "Midtown" Manhattan to photograph a studio apartment for Raj Garg, of Garg Real Estate.
The shoot was pretty straightforward. The apartment was nicely sized, but didn't have much of a view at all.
After the shoot, I headed to the MCM and Byredo counters at Nordstrom on 57th Street.
I also got a bubble tea at Panda Bubble Tea, inside of Turnstyle, the small underground market right outside of the Columbus Cicle subway station.
I got back to Brooklyn and couldn't find Tofu. Shortly after I got home, one of my neighbors let me know that he was in the building.

Really tired of real estate types walking though corridors and hallways while referring to them as "open space". That term has become a buzzword in my head that really means 'nonconforming space', 'long & narrow' and 'too-small-to-be-of-any-real-use'.

Great Video Jimi! I think you are giving me way too much credit here and not enough to your work. True I made one or two introductions for you but you were able to transform these into 6 or 7 clients. The reason I made them was that YOU are very reliable and professional: always on time, quick turnaround on the photos when necessary, and great pictures. Most importantly you are a great guy and it is a pleasure to spend a few work hours with you taking shots of apartments. I would argue therefore that these qualities are the greatest marketing tools you have to promote your work or you would have never been able to transform 2 introductions into 6 clients. I am very happy these other professionals agree with me and that they keep calling you when they need photographs taken.

This is legitimately a beautiful apartment, Jimi. I'm slowly compiling a list of lunch places to try from these videos.

Ha! It was only like 2-3 avenues, but my ankles were a mess and it wasn’t worth the pain :)

Any advice How do u get clients?
The first thing I'd recommend is a solid Instagram/LinkedIn profile; post strong photos and follow lots of real estate agents (and other real estate photographers). I'd also recommend reaching out to local brokerages and offering to do presentations to their agents. Check and see if the brokerage hosts events for vendors; I've had tables at several Keller Williams events. The other thing you could do is reach out to some of the local Airbnb hosts and ask about shooting their properties.

Oh he definitely has regrets some days. I will say that as he's gotten older, he's become less adventurous; he mainly stays on the block and just wants to go in and out of neighbors' apartments (of course my neighbors love that part)
