Unfortunately I missed the last week of play so there have been a few changes while I was away. Most notably Carcer drove his "big Chungus" miner into a ditch and broke it quite convincingly. This week is of course dedicated to making a new, even bigger "Huge Chungus" miner and drilling space for a hangar to hide everything in.

I'm 95 hours into Shadow Empire and logistics are still destroying my enjoyment of the game. Thanks for your help. I need to spend more time in the traffic lights and looking through what is going wrong. I'm fine with 1 zone but I continue to have problems once I start having multi zones and trying to project supply over significant distances.

Thanks so much for this! I am not sure if this is outdated, I am wrong, or I misunderstood, but when you talk about getting supplies off trains, I think that trains can offload from any hex that has track, as long as at the start + end there is a rail head/station? From the manual: A Railhead is just a place where trains can turn around and receive some minor servicing. Any Hex with Rail Points is a place where the train can stop and offload. Or in other words: you do not need a Station to offload your trains. You need two Stations (or one Station and one Railhead) for Rail Points to be applied on the Rail Hexes between them. Therefore, if you had troops on your map somewhere close to the middle of the line (not close to either station) I think you would be able to supply them as the train can stop on any hex?

The more you say “so as you can see” and “now here’s what we do” shit gets even worse
I think the counter-attacks were successful because last rounds attacks were costly, lowering morale and readiness. Continued artillery fire augmented this by lowering the readiness further and removal of entrenchment where there was any left (as you did a lot of moving/attacking last round)
Also waiting one turn until the laser reinforcements come in while shelling with arty to lower readiness might have been prudent. Though this way more laser troops will also come in to replace the losses 😅
Keep getting lured into hexes that can be attacked from 3 sides
You should have started mining the golden artifact site in the southern province.
Shouldnt you design the Laser Infantry asap? Why did you make an RPG unit first?
Need to research the tech first, I think it was only discovered. Also RPG can be paramount in dealing with the incoming (polymer) armour because as of yet there is no good way of dealing with them. The lower tech option means the model van be designed in one turn probably
I appreciate the advice on roads always leading to cities and 99% of the time this is true but in a world I generated maybe 15 minutes ago I had a road lead to a massive cluster of runes, largest I have ever seen in one of my games. The ruins were between 10-20 tiles. Regardless the advice is great just figured some one might find it cool they can lead to ruins too.

Sorry it was a good while ago and I don't remember, check the matrx forums it was from there.
Man in my game im currently at my 4th medium tank ot so, and all are crappy in the 80ies bracket. Btw.: My designer has over 60 intelligence, a technical skill of 83 plus an android for plus 20 intelligence. Weird!
You would have much less trouble with the random militias and mutants, if you properly surrounded them before attack instead of just pushing them from one corner into the other all the time.

Man! That function to merge your GR troops into one unit completely fries my brain! I have never seen a system so cryptic and complicated!

Another clear and concise tutorial. I’m at the stage of play where I’m learning from this. The map you’re playing on looks really fun - I love the big oceans and lakes present. Question - what did you do during planetary creation to get those huge ruin clusters? The biggest I’ve seen in my 3 games is a 3-ruin cluster.

Egoism zeitgeist is killing relations all over the place. But look on the bright side, rebels are always good for some extra experience on your troops and some field testing ;)
Also low readiness is prolly because of low relationship with SHQ commander as he is responsible for readiness boni
That is one way to get some extra fate points/fate cards. The AI is pretty adept at b-lining to empty/poorly defended cities
Thanks for this tutorial. As my empire expands and I rely more and more on rail should I mothball my truck stations? Do truck stations still serve a purpose in a sprawling empire with lots of rail?
rail stations can only drop supplies off at railheads, or they suffer a 90% penalty, where as trucks can drop off supplies all along a route without a penalty. rail is more efficient, but trucks have their uses to finish where rail can't get to easily.
Pro tip: Save the game in a remote drive and all players just load from the same folder on the same remote drive.
