Ferris Presents: Great Ideas from Famous Planners and How to Steal Those Ideas in Cities Skylines. Howard came up with the "Garden City" concept, which was years ahead of its time inspired (and continues to inspire) planners around the world. i've seen an upswell in interest in planning and what can be taken from the study of planning and applied to Cities Skylines. So, this is my attempt to share some of what I learned in planning school with the C:S community. Some industries and commercial occupancies should never ever mix with residential apartments for obvious fire safety reasons. For instance, you would never have an automotive service center with an apartment above it.

Not really. This is a video game, and doesn't have the capacity to do that type of drafting. I suggest you check out a free program called SketchUp. ButterCookie socialism want even invented till the late 1800’s bruh you have no idea what you are talking about. All the oldest New England cities are very euro esc. New York, Boston Philadelphia, Baltimore ,savannah. All way different than the cul-de-sac design of most American cities. These buildings are true freedom. Freedom to get food without having to enter your car. The car is just a tool by elites to make people economically depend on them and the state. Commute time is the number indicator of poverty. Imagine if someone could just walk to school instead of having to buy a shitty 20 year old Chevy. Mixed use is how we are meant to live.

    • @KoruGo

People expressed socialist ideas as far back as the 1600s and many civilizations like the Native American tribes in the Carribean as well as the Indus River Valley Civilization were socialist. American suburbs are an Orwellian nightmare in which hundreds and thousands of homes are the same shapes with little ability to walk to shops, public transit, etc. I think the example in the video is kinda ugly and instead, we should fight for denser cities with LRT and other pblic transit.
