Lord Bullingdon went off halfcocked.

This scene is needlessly and stupidly reedited. Lord Bullington never misfired his second shot. He Shot Barry Lyndon in the leg, and it had to be amputated as a result. And Barry was banished from the Bullington family estate, and sent back to Ireland.

Sorry, I have to call you out. That was not an 'Extended scene' You just repeated, with several edits, previous shots, to appear as if there were multiple accidental discharges from Lord Bullingdon. Which, I believe, is not accurate. Your description needs clarifying, that you repeated shots for drama. That we can accept. But to re edit, changing this classic movie, is unacceptable without clear disclamers.

Bullington pulled the trigger by accident while cocking it

It would be hilarious if Bullingdon, after his second misfire, were to say, "Um, ... OK, now I have received satisfaction."

1:14 -- Bullingdon's pistol fires, but doesn't scare away the pigeons--who continue to coo contentedly? Then, at 4:10, when Lyndon fires his pistol, we can see pigeons in the background, and most of them fly up in response to the shot. But some of them don't. WHY? What kind of pigeon wouldn't be startled into flight by a gunshot that close to them? Are they stoned, and just don't care?
