Oh, thank you both so much for this. I have to say when I had my first brush with the Muses (Fat Skier) it changed everything for me. And then this just seemed to blossom into so many bands and projects that it was almost too much to take in. Superb. And, Tanya, my god, what an astonishing musician (particular props for the guitar: nobody else seemed to be doing what you were) and singer/songwriter. Suddenly in the mid/late 80s music got very real for me. Thank you so much.

Jackie says at Harvard that she and Obama were probably the two best known people. Okay, Jackie was in The Runaways, but how was Obama 'best known?' That had to be years before he got into politics. I want to say, and this is probably wrong, but is it because he was black/biracial at Harvard that he was well known? Otherwise, I'm not sure.

So happy about Jackie's successful board game release! :-D Sucks to come down with COVID and pneumonia while promoting it at GenCon, though. And hey!... her stint on Jeopardy! needed more attention here! ;-)

When Jackie mentions that story about sitting at the airport next to the guy saying "TWA, See the big planes! TWA!", It reminds me when I took Greyhound to Hollywood back in 1981. Nearly every bus station we stopped at there were people with "slight problems." Surprisingly, the station in Downtown Los Angeles was the nicest one and not to many problem people despite there being homeless all around.

Great interview. Jackie is cool. She is now the 3rd member of the Runaways I have heard say she doesnt like Kenny Laguna and doesn't want anything to do with him. Sad for Joan.

Also loving your move. Great memories of driving down both sides en route to Chicago and wondering what it would be like to live/work outside the city. Later headed Far East like your dearly departed friend. May have met him here… 💗

This was a great interview with Loren. Fan from back in early days...high school in Lansing. East Lansing & Michigan had a wonderful music scene back then 60s, 70s.
