Honestly, I'm surprised you ranked Super Mario Land so high. As I mentioned in your Final Fantasy Legend review, at the time my feelings towards the Gameboy were very "meh" and SML was a major factor in that feeling. About the same time I'd been playing Mario 3 on the NES and seeing the... quite odd gameplay and primitive graphics of SML it soured me on the Game Boy. But then FFL came out and my craving for more Final Fantasy drove me to buying a Game boy.

Unfortunately all those systems constantly changed. So I never got them. I had the game gear (far better system and great titles just not enough titles. I had the psp aswell. I just felt Nintendo just kept making same portable unit excethe games weren't backwards compatible. So I always felt it wasn't worth the money. It's too bad the game gear wasn't better recieved maybe there would've been a crossover

Fun fact: In that game, Pikachu can learn surf. And you can play a hidden mini game if Pikachu can surf.

You can actually catch a Pidgeotto in the bug forest. And in this version crabby is only next to Bill’s house. These coincide with the anime. You can get the starters out of order, but you can do it in order by choice. You can essentially do an Ash run.

Also the fact you can find a lv 9 pideotto too is nice like in the show

As a kid who was absolutely entranced by Final Fantasy for the NES, when I heard there was a Final Fantasy for the new Game Boy system it changed it from a "Ehh..." to a must buy. Somehow I managed to pester my parents to buy a Gameboy as well as FFL from my local Coast to Coast hardware store, which for some reason sold video games back then.

Having been recommended this to me by a friend, I can say without a twinge of sarcasm that this is actually an amazing piece of media. The writing was good, and for Flash Animation in 2005, this has a lot of great moments. I love looking at this as a starting point for whatever comes next, the catalyst of a Big Bang of talent and artistic endeavor. I hope you've lived a wonderful life in the almost 20 years since this movie was released. Even if you never picked up animation ever again, I genuinely think you should be proud of this, as a testament that you did it. You did good, Tony. And you brought joy to the people that watched this.
