This song encapsulates what it feels like to be in a long term relationship that went nowhere, the emotional abuse, the disgust the & resentment that eventually boils over. By the time you find the strength to leave you’re too exhausted & over it that it’s a waste of your time, energy, words. A waste of your lungs. Even the end riff and how somber it almost sounds contrasts to the upbeat and happy tone we get earlier. How the relief of leaving quickly falls into mourning, and dread of feeling lost. Brilliant fucking song.

This song is too much for me sometimes. I had this album in 1995. I listened to it all the time with my girlfriend. She was the first, the first real one to me. She was so in touch with her desires though, and it was too much for me. I had to back off from her, it was too much at times. Later, after high school, after college, we reconnected, briefly. Then I left the USA for two years. I came back and I landed a job. Ironcially, she was working there. She was so sweet. We had something good. A few years ago I caught word that she had died in an automobile accident. I was left with a feeling of emptiness inside. This song really brings back a world of emotions, because we listened to it a lot together. I miss her so much.
