Costa Rica surfing exploration - May 2024 first south swell of the summer season
Nestled in the vibrant Guanacaste region of Costa Rica, our five-day escapade with comrades Oliver Kurtz and Tyler Correll unfolded against a backdrop of sun-scorched beaches and azure horizons. Our gracious host, Tyler, opened his doors to us, granting respite in his exquisite abode amidst the verdant landscape.
As avid surf enthusiasts, our anticipation soared for the renowned breaks of Playa Negra and Tamarindo. Yet, nature had its own rhythm, and the waves fell shy of our fervent expectations. Undeterred, we pivoted swiftly, orchestrating impromptu adventures to deserted beach breaks and recalibrating plans to infuse zest into our days.

I think the pier section may be Deerfield Beach, and the section that starts with the cargo ship, could be Riviera Beach (Northside Jetty).

The inside at Deerfield doesn't get this hollow. It's Juno.

Puerto Rico was better. Surfline overinflated it at 15 foot and good but it was 5 foot and fair then 6 foot fair then 4 foot occasional 5 or 6 and fair then it was over by Tuesday but more power than Florida was receiving

North swells generated by cold fronts. Even if the water isn’t cold the air is.
The water in Florida in the winter gets fairly cold and the wind.

@@squarecracker I thought it was Sebastian and that is Central FL. St Lucie inlet is where I start calling it SOUTH FL.
