Seems like your AI doesn't know how to pronounce Waukegan.
My grandfather was a manager for Martin Theaters.
So many drive-in theaters opened during the war - despite gas rationing.
Thank you !!!
Excellent ! Thanks
You guys missed the closure of the UGC Arcadian former MGM Former Virgin cinema.
I miss the Century Theaters. My sister and I used to go out to San Jose to visit our father and his side of the family. Every year he would take a week off from work and we’d spend the entire week going to the movies. I spent many days going to a majority of the movie theaters in San Jose, Palo Alto, Milpitas, and Sunnydale in the 80s. I also remember going to the Capitol Drive-In to see Batman.
Watched many old movies at the Moon lit drive in in the early 70s. My Brother and his now wife Susie fell asleep. and were woke up by the guy cleaning the lot at 2 am... Anyone remember the song, Wake up little Susie?
What about the Westwood Twin Cinema and the kelly drive in????
Why is bro using the gta 5 loading screen song? 😂😂
😂
Nothing happened between 2012 and 2017
Nice video, obvious it took a lot of research. Too bad they couldn't teach bot to do better pronunciations
You can always tell someone who isn't from Rochester calling Ch eye lie, Chili and not able to pronounce Irondequoit
Oakville Mews checking in here, operating independently since 2005!! I knew about Sherway and the Pantages opening the same day but didn't know about the others! Looks like it's just us and the Newport Centre one left!
The Newport Centre cinema is still open to this day. It's a great cinema. Latest film I saw there was Alien: Romulus. I plan to see more movies there soon.
Landmark has the best theatres in the business in Canada if you ask me. The seating alone is the anti-thesis of Cineplex's cram in as many you can approach... The most luxurious and supple leather reclining chairs at most locations alone make it an easy choice if there's one in your area.
I have fond memories of the London Towne Square cinema. Sad that it was demolished for a grocery store that didn't really last all that long and has basically sat empty ever since... Dante's Peak, Anaconda, the trailer for The Fifth Element? All at that cinema!
Beautiful amc location Thumbnail.
Bear in mind that I only found two new theatres opened in the USA and Canada for 2024.
That's really cool, sincere.
You just missed the adding of the Imax
What happened to the Texas theater in ysleta, on the corner of Alameda and Shutz , formerly Zaragoza
Where's the Texas theater in Ysleta, on the corner of Alameda and Schutz
Why is there the N-word on the Moffett Drive-In Newspaper Ads
The Broadway Theater in Santa Ana remained open showing second run movies through the '70's and later showing Spanish language movies and later live shows. The Broadway Theatre closed in 1987. In 1989, a fire destroyed much of the theatre, and a year later, it was demolished.
The Westerner Drive In was my first real job. Those were great times!
How come no pictures are being shown for some of the theatres being mentioned?
Y’all remember the dollar theater by Publix and mazios
I've been looking for photos, inside and out, of the Twin Oaks 4 for years. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
There was a second drive in theater in Waco that had a Bear on the back of the screen. Unlike the drive in on LaSalle, this Bear was almost comical and was on a huge screen. The drive in theater had to have been closed for years , there were trees where cars used to park. When I went back to Waco in early 1985, the drive in had vanished , I was told it became a trailer park or something. I wanted to get pictures of that drive in cause it was very cool and eerie at the same time, a dated artifact or relic, even by 1985. A really gigantic old one screen drive in.
1993-1998
Menston history
Wow this is a pretty neat recollection of theater history in El Paso. Thank you! Was hoping for something like this
F---- ing AI cant even watch this its CRAP
I like learning about movie theaters!
I was born in 83. And grew up in flint, i imagine my parents took me here
My first Job..14 yrs old...
What happened to ASCARATE DRIVE INN!!!!!
Tragic!
These theaters are for El Paso's Perverts!
The Showcase Cinemas, on Rt. 22 (Most people considered it to be in Monroeville, but it was actually in Wilkins Twp. - Monroeville didn't start until you crossed over the bridge, towards Monroeville Mall). In 1981/82 ? it went from 4 screens to 8 (they just made the theaters smaller, as they weren't filling each one, & this allowed them to show more movies at once). Later (I don't know what year), they expanded again. This time from 8 to 12 screens.
I watched this, they didn’t mention the movie theater that was close to where Jackson clinic is now. What was the name of it??
Malco Twin 1976
Great video. Thanks for the memories.
No mention of Central States Theaters and ABC Theaters, both operated by the Blank family. Their offices were in the Paramount Building. They operated theaters and drive-ins throughout Iowa and, I think, in Illinois.
Cinema plant had full restaurant and bar. You could order and the food would come out to your movie seat. Was great when it opened. If the owner had run it right it could have been great.
This is fascinating but what is the source of this information please?
BBBBOOOOOORRRIINGGGG!!!!!
The Cloverleaf Drive In was in Valley View Village NOT Independence.
Older publications mentioned Independence instead of Valley View.
You needed to include addresses
Wow it’s been a long road of movies in Jackson 💯
