At 23:56 that's my homie and a person with a heart of gold that was with me through the hardest thing that I've dealt with or gone through in life. The death of my identical twin brother. Phil was attending Chico state in northern cali and my brother and I were on our way to our stunt spot and we stopped by his 4×4 shop on the way to say what up! He went with us and just drove and chilled as we rode for a while. He returned back to his shop about 2 minutes fro. The stunt spot and not 2 minutes after he left my brother got the shakes really bad on his 98 cbr 900 rr and upon setting the front tire down got a tank slapper. This wasnt a normal head shake but a top of 3rd gear 125 mph most violent brutal slapper that had both tires off the ground at times. He only covered about 50 ft before going off the road, down into the ditch along the side of it and hit the only tree stump along the entire 5 mile straightaways length. It bounced the front tire disintegrating his rim and forks and when the rear tire hit it catapulted him higher than the telephone poles and threw him 98 yards that high. I was literally right behind him and all I saw was the blue streak on the back of his jacket waaaay up that high and his arms flailing about rolling the windows up trying to orientate himself so he wasnt upside down any linger. The rear wheel was spinning so fast that a cloud of dust obscured my vision as he was thrown into a almond orchard so I couldn't see where or how he landed. I stopped and I had a million thoughts running through my head the worst one being "oh sh*it, my speedometer was coming down from 120 mph and he was higher than the telephone poles and he went so far out there into that orchard. I dont think that survivable. Oh no. I hope he isnt gone. He cant be! Did that really just happen?" I dropped my bike and took off running in the direction I last saw him going and as i ran through that orchard on that cool, windy February afternoon I saw a shoe. Than the visor of his helmet and a sock. Than his radiator and another sock. That's when I saw him laying on his side facing away from me next to a tree a football field away from the road. I got to uim screaming screaming his name and kneeled beside him and tried to roll him to his back only to be horrified at what I saw. I saw his eyes and the fact that bones were coming through his j eww and and his neck. He had no neck. His eyes. Fixed and open but slightly rolled back. I did the thing that I felt I need to do and that was remove his HELMET and as I did I held him in my arms turning his head into my lap and when i did that, i died inside. I never have seen blood cone from a persons nose, mouth, ears and tear ducts. Luke a faucet it made a sound like that and I could smell it. I didn't flinch but tried to find a pulse. None so now I'm starting to panic. I thought CPR! ok, and tried to open his mouth but he had clinched down so hard plus all the blood coming out from between his teeth and from the sides and nose made it hard to grab in his mouth and pry. It was no use. No pulse, in the middle of a vacant road with no cell service and worse yet, I couldn't get my phone to dial 911. It was February 25, 2003. We were 23 about to turn 24 March 13th. I just held him and watched him bleed trying to stop it or cover it up as I felt along his body taking inventory of all the obvious broken bones.Everything. his vertebrae were poking out his skin. This was about 30 minutes before I saw a car turn onto the road. I set his body down amd ran to the road and stopped them. After they ran back to his body with me they were both horrified as it looked like I had been injured because I had blood all over me from my hands to my feet. They looked at him did a pulse check and informed me they were getting help. I sat down again trying to call 911 but it dudnt send. After another 30 minutes I hear sirens. I see the rescue team coming and I see Phil me sillyneck following. He ran out to me and we both looked and had the same disgusted horrified faces. He said he knew as soon as the emergency crew passed by that it was us si he followed them and when they turned down that road he got sick. He knew. He went to his shop and waited for my call. Another 20 minutes passed but I already knew he was gone. I was right. He passedi nstantly. His name was Jon. My identical twin who was my best friend. Two years of stuntin and now I'm alone . Covered in blood and feeling like I'm dreaming I finally broke down and cried. At the hospital my girlfriends mom came out with a look I never want to see again amd told me "Patrick......He didnt naje it honey. I'm... I'm so sorry baby.". That moment is all I think about all day everyday unless in tmauoer high or I'm riding. Phil came down and the support was truly what I needed. Funeral day he rode his bike from there to our town and we stunted to the funeral, to the cemetary and than back to my parents place to drink smoke and remember. Phil will always be a person I have the upmost respect for as well as a moment that he shared with me that changed me forever. Phil us the guy who is a stud at everything he does. Kills it all and learns fast. He is a true man if his word and I respect him and have love like a brother for him. I've told him how much I appreciate him and his friendship but he only needs to see my actions to understand how much live I have for him. I will always have a spot in my life for that stud. I have a signed copy of this album from a show, and I still looooove this song, even though it's been the better part of two decades.
