Thank you for the video. Replaced the tailgate switch on a 2016 Odyssey EX with a 2012-2016 CRV tailgate switch part number 74810T0AA02 74810T0AA01 and it works like a charm. Paid about CAD 45 for the part on Amazon. The tailgate would just not open in winter in Canada.

I did the same thing. And my parts is onky 5$ or so. But bad part of this fix the screw on the new parts do not fit with the old part. I have to reuse the rusted old screw and also i break a tiny parts of trim. I guess i have to pay for thr lack of experience anyway.

Just did it with the fine side of a nail fail, definitely works. Thought it was a sticker at first and was trying to peel it off before I found this video.

I just did this on my 2016 Honda Odyssey LX with manual tailgate. The button quit working (99.8% of the time) and I replaced this part just in time. I did it a little differently and it was simple. However, I broke one of the screws off of the plastic / chrome trim when using trim removal tools. More instruction regarding how to avoid that would be great because I am going to have to figure out how to glue that back in place with some trim epoxy. It's going to be a little tricky. The great news is that the replacement button I ordered off of Amazon - it said it doesn't fit my car - fit and worked perfectly. Dorman 901-747 Liftgate Release Switch. About $30. Great deal. I unplugged the switch on the inside (just the small connector, easy to unplug if you push the tiny release. I left the rest of the connector assembly as is. Then I just dropped the old one out the back like he shows (barely fit), then removed the button screws leaving all hanging. I cut the wires near the old switch and tossed it, leaving wires that I stripped, twisted to the new wires (after cutting them to 2-3" in length and stripping 1/4" insulation), then soldered the new wires to the old ones (with the new switch screwed in place). I just used electrical tape to cover it all. I kept my wires and wire work external and never had to push them through.

Did you use their leveling feet? Seems like a pricey option. Also they are recommending a backsplash. Thoughts?

Just curious. Did the button to open the trunk latch that's on the dash work before you replaced anything? I have a 2012 and the only way to open it is with the remote. Dash button and outside button won't open the hatch but once it's open the inside dash button will close it

Funny. New Costco packages say “ compatible with AIRTAGS” wonder if they were getting lots of complaints.

Genius! My father-in-law called today for help with this exact situation. My immediate reaction was to tell him he probably needed new batteries. But then I quickly jumped on YT, found this video, and walked him through the fix. It worked, he's happy, and he thinks I'm a genius. It's a win all around!

Maybe the genius who did this at Duracell is causing his company a lot of loss.

Very Nice Video and ‘trick’ for the Duracell Battery though I have no AirTag’s as of yet. I do prefer Duracell, they just seem to last longer in my electronic’s.

Sanding didn't work for me but I just rubbed it with hydrogen pyroxide for a few seconds and they worked!
