Commenting to say it works and that VMware Tools (the last version that supports Windows Vista, that is) is far better than VirtualBox Guest Additions (the ones from 5.2.x; later versions no longer support Aero). I can actually get 3D acceleration to work on classic PopCap games with VMware Tools installed. When the Direct3D driver from VirtualBox GA is installed however, they would barely run.
