My life was tough as I was a foster child who was taken away from my real parents at 6 months old along with my 6 older siblings. Got placed into five different foster homes but didn't stay long in any. At the age of two almost three I was placed into a foster home with two of my older sisters and one of my older brothers. Eventually the family gave me away as the husband at the time said that either I left or he would. They also had at that time put me into a all girl school got bullied so much in year 1 that I waned to end my life. Talked to a lot of councillors but it didn't help me at all nor did the family do much about it. Thankfully at five and a half years old I met a lovely couple who were looking at adoption and they agreed to be my foster parents. While living with them I started to learn about my real parents and found out that father was place into jail from sexualising my older sisters and my mother did nothing about it. That's why I was taken away so that it didn't happen to me. Later on he passed away when I was 6 years old and i never got to have a father-daughter relationship that I always dreamed of having. After living with my new carers for two years I placed into a Christian school where years later at the age of 13 I became a Christian. At this point I knew in my heart that God had put me in this family for a reason so I applied for them to become my legal guardians at the age of 11. ( meaning not having the government making my life decisions for me) first time I applied I got told that I was too young to understand what I wanted in life. But every year I nagged my case workers for it to be done but each time it got stopped or didn't go through court the right way. I didn't give up hope and prayed as well as playing this song over and over again throughout the years while waiting for it to go trough the court. Finally when I was at the end of year 10 my case when through court and the judge agreed saying that it should of been done years ago. ( If it didn't get approved I would of been removed from that family the very next day by the police and places into a grouping home for teenagers who were too old for foster homes.) Now I have been living with them for 12 years soon going to be 13 years the oldest child out of five kids. And to this day I still listen to this song on repeat. I also have put the word Chosen on the back of my senior jacket and each time people asked about it i tell that that i'm a Christian and i'm Chosen by God to be his daughter and also being chosen to be in this family that i'm in now. And I wouldn't change a single thing.
