Tank you for watching. There is not an exact way. However, one of the main rule is to play the tune with the little finger, (or the 4th and 5th fingers). Sometimes the note of the melody of a tune is already part of the 3 notes voicings, so, all one has to do is to add the rest of the notes of the melody. With some jazz standards, is not always possible or easy to play the all tune or melody using simply the 3 notes piano voicings technique. So, one has to combine the Three Notes Voicings with the Shell Voicings piano technique. The Three Notes Piano Voicing is just a start. By using Shell Voicings, where the Left Hand plays Two Notes instead of one, there is more space or room for the Right Hand to play or carry the melody of the tune. See the last Artmix Vision Jazz Video Tutorial based on the jazz standard tune A Foggy day. There, one can see an example of the 3 notes piano voicings applied to the first part of the tune. Then, Shell Voicings have been used to facilitate the playing of the melody. So, is not always easy to play the melody of a tune by using just one type of piano technique. See also the video on Shell Voicings. Really, there are many ways to play a piano accompaniment to a tune or melody. one can experiment a bit and see what fit best.
