Climbing Mt Fuji during the off season in June
I climbed Mt Fuji with Kanto Adventures during the off season in June. It was my first time doing a technical snow climb with ice axes and crampons. The climb itself was not too challenging but the altitude started affecting me as I went higher up since I did the climb in just one day. Highly recommend climbing during the off-season to avoid the crowds during the peak climbing season.

Until 2016, San Pedro Sula was named the "murder capital of the world" due to the country's lax gun laws and the deportation of street gangs from the US - most notably MS-13 and 18th Street gang. Backpacking through Central America, this was the one country that most backpackers skipped as many of us have heard of its history. I transited overnight in San Pedro Sula and wanted to see what this ...

Semuc Champey is a natural monument consisting of a series of stepped, turquoise pools in the middle of the Guatemalan jungle. The difficulty accessing it gave me second thoughts on whether I wanted to embark on the 9 hour bus ride from Antigua. Needless to say, it was worth it and probably one of the highlights of my trip in Guatemala. Instagram @cclemxc

I can't remember off the top of my head but somewhere around 35USD for the tour and around the same amount for the shuttle bus from Antigua to Lanquin (Lanquin is where you stay to get to Semuc Champey). Every hostel in Lanquin has a tour package and you don't really get a choice for a cheaper option as the hostels are far apart and people just go with the tour package at the hostel. However, I found the prices very reasonable and food there was the cheapest compared to other parts of Guatemala.
