This is roughly what happened when I made my final trip, I was SO happy to have found out about this button sooner!

i remember when i beat the game, on my first attempt, i accidentally alerted an anglerfish like 30m from the vessel node, so i clicked the eject button and flew right through it as my ship was eaten, never have i felt so scared and awesome at the some time, outer wilds truly is a treasure

I always used the eject button as a reset button. If i didnt want to wait for the supernova, I'd just eject without my suit.

I've saved myself too from an anglerfish attack using the eject seat. It was a scene perfect for a game trailer. Though you were drifting towards the red node at a steady pace, you could've drifted there had you just been perfectly still.

this happened to me once and i thought it was some scripted event i had been missing. turns out its just the probe giving a kiss (that probably kills a few hatchlings in the process) to timber hearth before it goes and finds the eye

Wish I knew it early

I already found this out when I was bored during autopilot and said “hey it’d be pretty funny if this button did something”

I think it is a missed opportunity that eject cannot be binded to a specific input on the controller and instead you have to move your camera and interact with it. It is a very fun mechanic and im sure itd be used a lot more if you could achieve it with a press of a button

Now, imagine you're on your first flight, gliding through space and beholding the system, you didn't put your space suit on yet, you see an "eject" button and think _I have the best and the worst idea,_ and out of sheer curiosity (That curiosity that will lead you to save/destroy the universe) you go take on your space suit and push it. And you realize that not only you're ejected, but your ship comes apart and now you're gliding through space with a limited air supply and no ship. 10/10, would destroy my ship again. (Hey, there's a reason we've been mentored by Slate!)

This game was really well made for a small indie game. If you haven't yet everyone should check out. A lot of mysteries and stories to read hidden in the game world.

Did anybody else initially assume it was impossible to get through the Dark Bramble with your ship, and therefore very skillfully parked it, got out, and fell to the center? I drifted (very slowly) past the Anglers, got stuck down there, found the station completely by accident, then had just enough air left to be upset I couldn't look around for more than half a minute before suffocating.

You never know when you need to eject.

The physics and the controls of this game are so sh*t couldn't even finish it. Sadly they ruined such an interesting games with this. So much potential.

Huh? I never used the ship on Dark Bramble. I would always leave it outside, then use the jetpack to navigate the inside of the planet. I was usually either lo on fuel, or oxygen (or both) by the time I reached any of the objectives. Didn't even know it was possible to fly the ship inside, I felt like the anglerfish always got me much, much faster than when I was jetpacking.

I never used the eject button lmao.

I haven't played the game, but in a situation where you are being chased by a demonic angler fish, why is being outside your ship a good thing?

Got wedged underneath a floating island on Giants Deep, figured i could try to use the eject to force myself through the undercurrent. Instantly died instead, 10/10

I was trying to get the achievement for leaving the solar system and figured I would eject after the map went all crazy. I forgot my suit. No achievement, only pain
