Decided to give my 1969 Rupp Roadster a refresh. New GM bright red (81 WA8774) and 2k clear. H50 motorsports with a Dellorto UB24 carburetor. Bike turned out really nice. Thanks to my buddy for all the parts he knows who he is!
Vintage Montgomery Ward Mini Bike Original Survivor Tecumseh HS50 5hp / Comet Torque Converter
Просмотров 545Месяц назад
Video of a all original "Best Selling" Montgomery Ward mini bike with the original Tecumseh HS50 5hp engine matched with a Comet Torque Converter. The bike has awsome Torque and I imagine it was a little to much for a little kid so it sat ever since. Went through cleaned everything up and she runs great. Such a great bike to just ride around and have a blast!

Here is a video of a survivor 1969 Rupp Sprint mini bike. Really cool example! Could use a better clutch but she still rides and the 1969 H35 runs excellent!

Briggs 5hp I/C Slide Carb
Просмотров 6423 месяца назад
This was originally a setup my buddy built on another block. I pretty much just transferred everything over to a Briggs dual bearing I/C block. Has a ARC rod, Crane cam, 3hp flywheel, pz22 carb, and I believe Tecumseh Motorsports yellow springs!

Vintage 1969 Tecumseh HS40 4hp Engine By JohnC
That’s nice I just pick it up the same looking rupp missing few parts though
Awesome and really fast! I love the pipe! I have a totally original '68 survivor 'LiL' Indian model 400 with Briggs 2.25hp engine. What kind of power is this making? Is this a model 400?
Nice looking bike, especially the choice of frame color. I'd like to put a straight pipe on my Tecumseh but I'm afraid the neighbors would put their foot down on that idea and complain.
Yeah the neighbors dont like it that's why I take it somewhere else to ride a litlle.
Your every neighbor's dream if you are considerate enough to do that. Props. @@vintageminibikesengines5038
Clean bike !!💪👍💪👍
Very nice. I have a 1970 LTD-830 survivor which has the shocks in the front forks and a jack shaft.
what lift cam?
Mickey Rupp died just last year. When I was a kid we had a Ruppster and my first snowmobile was a Rupp American.
Waiting for someone to say, "Hey an LED would correct that light dimming issue!". Very cool old engine!
Good job Jaxson! Building confidence, feet on the pegs....he'll be needing that horn before too long..."GET OUTTA MY WAY!!"
Stunning...you do great work!
This is a gorgeous survivor! This cannot be replicated so, please don't restore it. You did an excellent video showing just the details that are important...not a bunch of music and time wasted with non-useful footage. Also demonstrated the idle, acceleration and speed...oh and the obligatory wheelie which, is only possible with a torque converter! Thanks! Makes me want to buy it. I have a '67 lil indian 400 2.25hp complete survivor and it will stay that way.
Beautiful job! I appreciate you taking the time to show us these historical mini bikes of the past and for restoring them.
Thank you! Thats all it about 💯
🍒 Why don't you ride it? 🤔 🍭 I just want to hear how it works and not some other one, this one only and in this video 🙄 🍿 Apparently, the big disadvantage is the lack of engine sound, and how you drive it here and now 😐 🍕 That little piece of video at the end is too little 🤷♀️ 🤷♂️
My bike is tagged I ride it all the time. More than probably most people. I will take more videos soon. I'm going to clear this up once and for all, I have a amazing understanding neighbor that video tapped me because I use to make videos out front of my house real quick to show my bikes and I ended up getting tickets for the crap. So now its hard for me to take a lot of videos unless I go somewhere just to make one. But I promise you this bike gets road often! All my bikes I ride I dont do on display never did. Its easier for me to stay out the way than deal with someone that has nothing better to do than complain about 2 mins of a guy riding a vintage mini bike...
@@vintageminibikesengines5038 Now it's clear what's the matter 🙄 🍊 Thank you for your reply 🍿
@@vintageminibikesengines5038 Maybe think about moving to a more suitable place? 🤔
Great rebuild 👍👍 very nice rupp.
I have a white Indian Tecumseh engine that looks identical to that one and I know it’s a five horse, but I’m unsure on the cc as it has no stickers on it to tell me what cc is your engine
HS50 was 197cc
Looks great. I think I would just clear coat it and leave as is. It took years for it to earn the patina. I have a 1969 sears runabout that I painted it one color then my younger brother painted it another now 50 years since his painting, his paint is falling off so is mine and the original color is coming though so I spay can clear coated it and just to protect it. I rebuilt the engine in my high school power mechanics class in 1975. That was the last time it ran until now. It was the same price for a new carb as it was to buy a carb kit. Replaced the point and condenser and the little Tecumseh fired up. All 2.5 horses
Why didn't you paint the frame and engine an do the engine up with new decals.🤔 The way your dressed is kind of creepy are you hiding from the law.
I would say this particular bike is much cooler to keep all original. It has all the original decals and serial numbers.. Maby the next guy will. An I suppose I am just creepy. Have a good one though, thanks for stopping by!
Did u drill & tap the 4" manco?
AWESOMENESS
My first mini bike had the governor delete 3 and 1/2 horse . Tecumseh It didn't even have the hole for the governor.
Lot of chrome
One of the best restorers I've seen
Wow so super cool 😎
Is it for sale
This had SO many memories for me. I got one from Western Auto for Christmas when I was 11/12yo back in the mid-1970s, and rode it for years. I have some very fond memories of riding my little cousin (sadly she passed recently) around on it one summer in Richmond VA, and was great how much she loved it.
Is all that chrome stock holy shit
Nice, amazing work as always!
Awesome awesome time as always!!!
I wanted to see the acceleration on flat ground but it looks like he started and ended at the top of a hill, so always accelerating on the downslope. Not fair.
I want to buy the minibike how much is it?
Very Nice piece. Brings back a lot of memories for me. I could never ride in my neighborhood,( Friends minibike). My mom was just like Ralphie Parkers mom. You'll shoot your eye out with a BB gun, and you'll get killed by a car on a minibike. Thats why i have one now, and mom lives 800 miles away. S
Just became a member dude that bike is a show bike.clean as F well you know cleeaaannn love tha channel.i got a ? How do I find a frame like that vintage.couldvyou point me in the right Direction.peace keep posting. All the chrome on that bike it's a admired Art. ✌️
Awesome I just had someone give me one of these It doesn't have an original motor on it though
I was fortunate to see both bikes at Windber. '69 Roadsters and TT500's were some of the most eye-catching minibikes of their time.
She's a beauty..
Nice bike, I got a Trail Horse made by the same company, General Appliance, frame is exactly the same but the handle bars are different. I think mine was a 1969 or 70 GTO500 model
Can't remember the last time I saw an original Sprint. And that gas tank looks brand new. Great job!
looks great!
What does something like this cost?
I love that. I had one similar when I was a kid. I’m 65 now.
Nice wheels
Edith, call the cops
Had a cheeta w 3.5 hp clinton
What do these sell for?
So, no starting. No riding?
