Today I am talking about passiflora incarnata aka maypop. A wild edible and medicinal plant native to the Southeastern United States. This is my first episode in an upcoming series of wild edible and medicinal plants native to the Southeastern U.S.
Just found some on my property. Haven't flowered yet, can't wait for the flowers. BC Canada

I had a delicious salad last night, consisting of henbit, chickweed, purple dead nettle, dandelion, w/ florida betony roots sliced thin as a topping. Harvested all of them from my yard, in southeast Mississippi. It was a beautiful and great-tasting green salad for February.

I found a LG# henbit """but does not clasp stems. It's not dead nettle. It has sqhere stringy stems. It looks like A
Under my nose? Not for long! Chomp. I usually just pick 'em and eat 'em while foraging in my yard. If my stomach is a bit off, I'll pick 6-8, eat them, and it almost immediately calms collywobbles.
