They are practically the same, obviously 170 is 170A, 180=180A, transtig is more for someone who does regular tig-just menu simplicity designed for tig, but transpocket is menu set up for stick welding with buried menus for tig. PS: transpocket became Ignis and transtig is now the Artis-same specs though. I would go for the Artis if you have the money, BUT remember we have the transteel 2200C/MV for not much more money that can do aluminium mig out of the box, BUT you lose the ability to run 6010/6011 electrodes that TP/Ignis or TT/Artis can. I went for the Transteel, because of the Aluminium mig and great Synerigic system that can mig short-circuit, droplet AND spray transfer can weld great with 7018 sticks and do stuff like braze unfamiliar materials.

yes this can be used on 110v power supply. You can run it on 300-foot extension cord. The machine has software called PFC power factoring Control. Power Factor Correction ensures sinusoidal current consumption, making effective use of the available power - only as much power is drawn from the mains as necessary. In addition to energy savings, this results in longer grid leads, improved generator compatibility, and higher welding currents - without tripping the circuit breaker.

No PMC or double pulse, this is standard pulse waveform, just synchro pulse around 3.5hz on the frequency and special 4t function so hot and crater fill program for the weld sequence.

@@robainaindustriesinc synchro pulse is double pulse with a few tweaks. and i can hear in the background the very very short short circuit between the main pulse which is pmc mix (pmc pulse with short bursts of short circuit that can be adjusted.. i know this because i run a tps my self and have a very similar setting that sounds just like that.. really useful for quick up hill welds

@@Migman2020 synchro pulse is not double pulse. synchro pulse alternates between two welding currents only peak current and background current. (Taken from the tpsi 270 c manual page 29) Double Pulse - Double pulse is two pulses that happen simultaneously. The first pulse is your standard (see: single) pulse with a peak amp and a base amp. The second pulse, which doesn’t transfer any wire, turns the first pulse on and off in its cycle. During this second pulse, the arc remains on, but the temperature is so low there is no welding happening. The video was for automotive training which we do not use pmc we don't need to over penetrate 2mm welding plates. It sounds like PMC because the hot start and crater fill in special 4t function which doesn't change the wave form just adjust it so it can run an elevated peak current to prevent a cold lap joint in the beginning of the weld.

It is also a tig welder with tune able pulsing features, and can run off of battery powered and also run on 110 or 220 power supply. So you get best of both worlds a battery powered welder and a welder that can be plugged in

Not really there were other battery powered welders before. These things are way too expensive for stick welding. My tiny havadou 225 burn 6010 very well.​@@robainaindustriesinc

HI this is the world first ever lithium battery powered welder. Its power source is a lithium battery inside the actual unit.

I assume its battery pack is made up of 18650 cells? If so what safety features are in place in the event of catastrophic power expulsion, critical level venting, and explosion? A low Duty cycle is most likely how engineers worked around this. What is the duty rating, and how much actual arc Time is it capable of per charge?

On Tig Pulse mode up to 27 inches with a 3/32 tungsten. In Hybrid mode, the unit can be used for welding at the same time as being charged. The integrated power reserve of the battery guarantees a constant arc - even in the event of mains voltage fluctuations - and prevents the mains fuse tripping if overvoltages occur. Even on a 120 V grid, the full output power of 150 A is possible. On hybrid mode is is a 100% duty cycle at max amperage. on battery power it is 110 amps at 25% duty cycle. Power Supply can weld while being recharged 45 min. recharge, 30 min. with rapid charge
