More often than not, people who say they're nice people usually aren't.
Outstanding performance.
"Fuckin' rat fuckers! All of ya'!" I laugh my ass off at this every time. And everyone just sits there and takes it 🤣
Valchek 100% put that story in his own back pocket for potential leverage lol. He was cool here but guys like him always have some form of agenda.
No such thing as a bad pierogi 🥟
Prez hits Valchek and suddenly he’s like “whoah….maybe it *is* okay for you to be married to my daughter…”
he wont have to play too hard
Say what you want about the old bastard but he can take a punch.
1:35😂😂😂😂
That convo with Herk was a real life example of "the game is to be sold, not told" Yeah he gave him advice, but for a price down the road lmao
Rat fuckers all of you!!!!!! 🐀 🐀 🐀 🐀
Heh, that's sweet. It's a testament to Al Brown that I was angrily shaking my fist at him throughout half of his time on The Wire, and laughing in disbelief through the other half.
“The one in the corner!” Gets me every time.
RIP to a legend
R.I.P,Mr. Brown. Made a heel character that Jim Cornett could only admire.
Aw, sad to hear he's died. In a show full of rephrensible characters, I think I hated his the most. That's one hell of a performance.
Always thought it was uncharacteristically honourable of Valchek that he gives Herc genuinely good advice and keeps his secret, rather than trying to use what he saw to help Carcetti (who he was backing) win the election.
Could just be hedging. Gets a favour for free
Valchek would prefer Carcetti to win but he doesn't need it to happen. Valchek can manipulate Burrell just fine already. If Valchek goes public with the BJ and Carcetti still loses to one of the black candidates, he burns that bridge forever. If he keeps quiet about it and gives Herc some good advice, then Royce winning again doesn't cost him anything and gets Herc into a position of power. Betraying Herc is low-reward, high-risk. Keeping the secret means he can't lose.
Mom: i got you a new sweater for christmas! Me: great. Fine. Whadaya got on Frank Sobotka?
2:03 imagine AJ had a moment like this with Tony in front of his entire crew in S6B or so.
Cops are degenerate
Prezbo was so weak he couldn't even knock down an old man near retirement valchek wasn't even wobbled by that cheap shot
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Got the old pos boomer to quit touching him though huh bish
Oh man how I hated this character!! Every time he said “Frank Sah-bad-kah” I wanted to kick him right in dick!!!
Just lays there, like a bad perogi on the plate. My Czech grandma 👵
Technically he did win in the end. That shit pissed me off but great character and show.
What I love is that no one, not even his family (Prez), friends (Carcetti) say a good word about him, yet he's so powerful and influential because he's politically savvy
Was anyone else expecting him to fuck Herc over by going to Carcetti with the gossip? I was genuinely surprised when he didn't, and was actually giving Herc solid advice.
Fucking rat fuckers. All of you.
I gotta admit as much as I hated Valchek for targeting Sobotka, it was hilarious the way he could literally scream and curse at the commissioner and the deputy ops and the states attorney and basically everyone.
"Buncha rat fuckers, all a ya"
Fuckin rat fuckers
Didn't have the time to watch it all: did Valchek maybe mention Frank Sobotka?
" my case it's my little vendetta, policing forget that we are just a gang the biggest gang. Stop being police"
Valchek the bad perogie on the plate
Love how Herc had his career fall into his fucking lap and still screwed it up. XD
Herc hitches his wagon to valchek and Carv hitches his to Coleman, and herc gets worse and Carv gets better. You really become the people you follow.
Colvin gave Carver some harsh truth at the end of season 3 and Carver actually used the harsh truth to be a better cop and a better man.
@@flightofthebumblebee9529 It's a shame Colvin didn't have more time and more power within the police, or even as an advisor to the schools. He seemed to actually understand the big picture is made up of thousands of tiny ones
@@purplefood1 He couldn't save the police or the school...but he was able to save Namond. That's his victory.
Depends how you look at it. If you look at the whole show...Herc lands pretty well. He's making big money for Levy.
@@sethzwicker3631 yeah but string was making good money too. Everybody in the upper half of Avon’s Crew did well financially but got what was coming to them. Marlo did well in the game and made it to the end of the show partly because he understood that there were things more important than money (my name is my name!) but by the end he was starting to forget that and he lost his name in the streets and with it his identity. Daniels was implied early on to be dirty, and value money and position above police work and the public good, but he decided to be good police and he did well consistently through the series. There are exceptions; clay Davis is the greediest guy in the show and he is able to keep swimming the whole time, but nobody genuinely likes or trusts him. If your only goal is financial success you can be a scumbag, sure, but A. It doesn’t leave you with much in the way of friends or supporters and B. It’s only worth it for as long as you keep your life and as Stringer Bell found out, when you create enemies around every corner, it gets harder to keep your money and your life.
Daniel's reaction to the punch would be a better meme then webay's 😆😆
He enjoyed the hell out of playing that roll.
Valchek never had the makings of a varsity athlete
He took that punch better than Tony did with Bobby lol
2:04 The most satisfying sucker punch in TV history
This is a nice interview and all…but I’m not hearing anything about Sobotka. What have you got on Sobotka?
Nothing. You'll have to search for the actor who played the character and see what he has. I just manage these for Al.
Rat-F***ER's all of you...you think you can freeze me out?
@@AlBrownIsValchek It's a quote from the show.
I read that quote and I just burst out laughing. God bless and rest in peace.
I love how Valchek could be raging asshole in one scene and passionate father figure in other. Every single character in the series has so many layers, that's what makes it the best series ever.
What kind of fucked up father do you have?
Then he gets punched by his son-in-law in the next scene
Valchek was humbled by the way he drove Roland to punch him and the way Frank died for his union. It's implied that Valchek felt remorse for his actions during these events.
Good fucking point!
@@flightofthebumblebee9529 He was there trying to protect Roland late in season 3 after the bad shooting so they got over their differences.
Lt. Daniel's eyes were the best part of the punching scene.
Prez threw every ounce of his anxieties and depression in to that punch, Jesus
Valchek knew he was wrong and it took getting punched in the face by his daughters husband to teach him that. We later see Valchek going to bat for Prez in season 3 when he accidentally shot the undercover guy.
Valchek may be my favorite character from the show. Him and Weebay.
Nobody: Absolutely nobody: Valchek: FRANK SOBOTKA
as a side character he was fucking amazing
Valcheck the guy you love to hate
When Herc knocks on the door like three times the next scene he's with Royce had me in tears. No lol I was actually laughing a lot.
3:23 if he was real Polish, he would have known that pierogi are never bad :) otherwise he's a great character
Oh yes they can be. Lekvar sucks. Expecting Potato and cheese or potato and onion and getting a lekvar will ruin your day.
@@From-North-Jersey I bet it will do! How can you guys (I mean Americans) make pierogi with something like lekvar...
@@Acolith My Great Grandmother used to make them along with lekvar cookies around Christmas. She would serve the Lekvar pierogis and cookies for desert along side poppy seed roll and walnut roll. Claimed that was how her grandmother used to do holiday deserts Poland.
@@From-North-Jersey this is interesting, Lekvar is a Hungarian thing and in nowadays not really known in Poland (I used to live 26 years in Poland and never heard of it before). Pierogis are usually savoury (minced pork or cabbage & mushroom or cottage cheese & potatoes) but you can get sweet too (cottage cheese & sugar or strawberry or forest fruits). It's funny to see how the same cuisine evolves differently across the World
@@Acolith I 100% believe you, My mothers side of the family always replied "polak, slovak and check" when ever asked their ethnicity. I never heard them break down the ratio and considering their love of chicken paprikas and all things lekvar they may have forgotten about an ingredient in our family recipe.
"Kid, you're a fuckin' rock!"
May have meant it in more ways than one now that I think about it xD. Herc is not the brightest fellow either.
@@andrewcook1246 herc had his moments. Knucklehead through and through, but shit he definitely had his moments
@@poodymeiner3125 I love Herc, funny character and layered beautifully. Took his lumps like a man and came out smelling like roses.
He had that punch coming lol
As literally everyone there agreed
Took it like a champ though
Most Useless and incompetent character in the whole Series......and he ends up being Commissioner in the end
I don't think incompetent is the right word to describe him
Valchek is a prime example of crooked police and corrupted "power." He's an essential part of the show. And he ends up being commissioner. The last person who should be running the BPD, but politics mean a lot. And these politics ruin real progress in upholding the law. No matter how nonsensical and feeble these laws are.
@@YaowBucketHEAD o
That is art imitating real life. That's why police reform is impossible. Corruption is imbedded.
@@aichejaye363 exactly.
You know I wish Valcheck would stop mincing his words, get to the point and say what he really means and wants.
Then check out his "twin" at ruclips.net/video/iy8Jm6Tc3_k/видео.html
