INTO THE CLOUDS | St. Bernard Pass drive | Audi S4 B5
We drove the Great St. Bernard as part of our tour through the Alps, already 2 years ago. The Great St. Bernard pass is the third highest road pass in Switzerland, at an elevation of 2,469 m (8,100 ft).

naaaa these vids are better than therapy
awesome! i do see how badly glazed the cylinder walls were. while this is also a component of general high mileage, its made much worse when people baby the engine when brand new. they never give the rings a chance to bed themselves in properly with constant heavy throttle changes and blasts to redline in a high gear. same thing happens with the 2 stroke outboards i work on. see it all the time... super glazed cylinders from extended idling and babying the motor even with low hours.exhaust gas pressure is your friend!

Damn, now you make me want to restore my engine as well! That is the goal though. I have a Nogaro blue with blue and black interior B5 S4 and I want to make it perfect. Great video! Very inspiring. Did you happen to do a cost breakdown of the process?
This might be interesting to do, yes! We are secretly working on the S4 even more (new paint job in process as we speak). Will have a look to see if we can break it down at some point

@@baggedr32mk5 Exhaust is unknown. Previous owner probably fitted one from Ebay. However, the exhaust manifold is completely custom and the cat is removed. Pre cat is still on but that's going out soon too ;)
