Linkon Cure's Decision: Will Kansas State Wildcats Secure Their Future on National Signing Day?
We'll be fine. Tri has the potential to be a great reciever and I wish him the best of luck. However, he was inconsistent over this last season.
For me, the "K-State version of Nebraska's Home Unis" are all right, since they have the Powercat logo on the helmets. That was my main issue with the alternate unis worn for the 2022 Tulane game: they had the team numbers on one side of the helmets (which I personally find tacky) and "Pennant Willie" on the other. I'm not a fan of anything that removes the Powercat. Color-wise, I'm fine with any color scheme that uses some combination of purple (including lavendar), white and/or silver.
I should note that I lived in MHK as a 5-7 year old from 1988 to 1990, and my K-State fandom dates from then. For me, the Powercat was introduced while I was there, and I associate the lack of a Powercat with the pre-Snyder "Futility U" version of K-State football. The on-field results for Powercat-less helmets speak for themselves...
It was disappointing to see the containment issues first half but they made great adjustments 2nd half. Maybe the most important thing was they put out a very entertaining product for those new to K-State football. This was a very fun football game for neutral viewers. I mean, explosive plays all over the field, and the comeback aspect had to have made some new fans for Wildcat football, not to mention moving up the long-term winning charts.
@kelvinwatkins - Speak for yourself.
I'm with ya!
Pump your breaks it's not like they played Georgia.
Nope. I'm running with this one! GREAT WIN!
What are you referring to?
@cjude0444 Isn't it a KSU podcast? What is it to get excited about the Anonymous Bowl? When is the last time K-STATE won National Championship in football? You are some of the only fans that get excited about winning 6 games and being Bowl eligible. When you win a Bowl game it's as if you won a National Championship 😆.You have such low morale and expectations of yourself. .
@kelvinwatkins1596 COMPARE Kansas States and Rutgers seasons over the past 5 years and you will see a contrast in seasons. Kansas State has shown consistency over those seasons, which Rutgers has not. Being butt hurt about this isn't going to save you. So, be sure to look at yourself when you talk shit, especially when you are looking for a forest in the trees.
Aww, you can't handle fans being happy over a win? Have fun being a bitter hater. I'll have fun enjoying an epic comeback victory!
Way to go Cats!
wooohooo!!
Great comeback and victory!! Big 12 beats B-10.
EXACTLY!!!
It starts at the top. Tang should be FIRED! He doesn't know how to coach! 359 of 361 D1 teams in TO last yr. Arthur Kaluma was a 15+ pt scorer @ creighton. 10 pts at KSU, 15+ at TX this yr. Hawkins & McDaniel were 15+ pt scorers in Big10 last yr. Hawkins is less than 10 pts this yr and McDaniel can't find the court. Starting Castillo? 2 games?! The coaching staff has long been extolling Castillo but he has yet to do anything on court. So that tells me they don't know crap! Now Tang is scared of the Missouri Valley and the Big east?! Who does he think is going to prepare KSU for the Big 12?! Tang is NOT the right person to lead K-State! He not capable of the job!
As a Razorback fan I'm so glad we didn't end up with Jerome Tang. K State is cooked
loving every minute of this trash pay for play k state basketball team. learn from the alleged cheater TJ Oz on how to build a program. go clones 🌪️ karma is a bitch
Pains me to say it but this is who this team is. Has to be. It won’t get better. I’ve never heard of a team starting this bad and then winning the conference or making the Elite 8, you?
Every game Buddy has come into, he has provided a spark. Hopefully, he playing time will continue to increase.
Culture? What is the culture of this program? The lack of buy in from the players tells me that the staff is completely unable to impose their will on the team and the players will continue to look like they're only in it for themselves...poor personnel decisions with no foundation or culture to fall back on...and high school recruiting has been gutted due to the ongoing search for "experienced players."These coaches aren't skilled enough to rebuild every single year.
It's sharp knife that's been gutted into this bball program. One way I see that they can patch this up and mend the bleeding is to grab young, tough & hungry players that aren't in it for the money but are out to prove themselves that they can play at this level. Also use a smaller NIL budget as an incentive to keep some of our current productive players so that than can carry-over to the next season with the new guys. This will take some time to fix (most definitely more than 1 year) and Tang is gonna be here for the foreseeable future. However, it's a fix that I'm not sure the fanbase will be patient enough to see pass. But I hope everyone can be patient to see if they can fix this. Time will tell...
Would have been better with Ames, Kaluma, and Carter.
I wholeheartedly agree with you here. They decided to let those 3 dudes walk last year and reboot. Well the reboot ain't going well so far...
The Hawkins problem is what he is being paid. $2 mill is not facilitator Robin, that much is for 20 point Batman’s.
I’m really tired of watching him flail through games with zero probability of any of his shots going in. He performs like he’s never played in an official game.
My overall K-State men's bball projection moving forward: Ceiling: Conf - (13-7); Regular Season Overall - (19-12); Tourney outlook - On the Bubble (Last 4 In - Next 4 Out) Floor: Conf - (6-14); Regular Season Overall - (12-19); Tourney outlook - N/A Realistic: Conf - (9-11); Regular Season Overall - (15-16); Tourney outlook - CBI ?
Unfortunately the realistic expectation seems very optimistic, but that's why they play the games, anything can happen.
@@georgevan2589 I am quite the optimistic and I do believe they will improve as the season progresses, however realistically I believe it will be too little too late.
I don’t know what to think about this team. It kinda reminds me of teams which lacked institutional control where coaches have been dismissed. Since the NIL is out of control, there have to be some kind of measures to rope it back in. Performance bonuses etc so there’s some kind of incentive for these players - right now, this looks like a money grab by this team. I can assure you that this NIL will be smaller next season - we had our chance, and we blew it.
My humble advice to the coaching staff moving forward would be (either thru high school/transfer portal), go get tough players that are hungry to prove themselves and are not after that bag $. Also use NIL to keep the older players that are productive on our roster that have "bought in" and they can help carry over the mantle for the new incoming players. One-year high potential-low ceiling rental players is NOT the way to go moving forward.
Tang was pushing the money grab route. This is his plan. Blew up on him.
@ - watch out what you wish for as they say.
The ceiling for Big 12 wins looks like 3-4, leading to over 15 losses. Key issues: - Lack of continuity and cohesion - Concerns with team behavior (Achor situation) - Poor half-court offense and interior defense, which fall on the coaching staff Always enjoy watching this podcast! Don’t forget, N’Guessan is pronounced (Guh-SAHN).
Lackadaisical comes to mind.
Hard to disagree. There are moments of greatness, but too many moments where it’s extremely lackluster! Thanks for watching!
It is a big deal coming after the 10 day reset and everything else this year...the guys played hard and were more competitive but the glaring issues remain....no leadership, poor rebounding, turnovers, poor communication, consistent shooting, no leadership....zero leadership due to lack of buy in which Coach Tang has referenced several times...we're staring down the barrel of a 20 loss season unless Coach Tang asserts his control over these guys but the cringe worthy offensive struggles and lack of execution on that end doesn't give you much hope. The lack of any kind of structure in the half court reminds me of a bad AAU team in summer ball
Well Said!
Looks like we added a good-sized WR from Purdue.
I love the pickup!
It means we lost to an UNDEFEATED team in OT. S... happens.
4 non conference losses Simon …
Update: those 10 days were NOT a “blessing”
