Not Your Abuela’s News Show – Radar Recap Seasons 1 - 6 | Radar 2022
Typically, on Radar, we dive into one topic. But this time, we decided to feature una mezcla of our favorite segments, making this episode particularly special because it’s our last one.
We’re recapping the subjects that usually get swept under the proverbial tapete, and in the process, making our parents relive some pretty uncomfortable-yet necessary-conversations. So many of the issues Radar tackled head-on haven’t traditionally been welcome at the dinner table, at family gatherings or in many Latinx spaces. With that in mind, we have proudly lived up to our tagline, which just happens to be the epitome of #realtalk: Radar is NOT Your Abuela’s News Show.
The goal has always been clear-to ...

In this episode, music histor...
Gone Missing | Radar 2022

When it comes to the amount of coverage media gives to missing persons cases, it’s become common knowledge that white women receive vastly more attention and airtime than cases concerning BIPOC. And while media outlets, journalists and even law enforcement have openly recognized the problem and put forth some effort to correct it, little has been done to systematically overturn it. The devastat...

Arent they mascogos? Why call them Seminoles?
VIVAN LAS 4 letras México 🇲🇽 para los mexicanos fuera de México azteca power perros
Too bad Mexico 🇲🇽 didn’t have that welcoming attitude to us Apaches and Navajos. Mexicans love to talk about their Indigenous roots and fail to realize they were just as big Indian/Native killers as the United States. I guess Mexicans pick and choose what Natives they kill 🤣.
Who cares
This is such a beautiful story
Mexico is part of African American history and the fight against slavery long before the 13th amendment. These loyal Mexicans are as much a part of this country as Gaspar Yanga, the first Mexican who fought for freedom, or José María Morelos, Vicente Guerrero and Juan Alvarez, who were of African descent.
Yo amo a los mascogos, mascotas, taraumaras, los yakis, los lacandones amo mi mexico.
The language is still in your soul, that hit. I appreciate this
They should show this to the racist people
The seminoles tribes need to deport them all
Lmao stop this nonsense😂
🥤🤩🍿🇲🇽
@3:25 those look like my uncles in Rio Verde, SLP. I’m glad the tribe had a safe place to go after the Trail of Tears.
The true Biblical Israelites.
All humans are unique
No one cares
Black people are native to the Americans. Not all Black people in the Americans are escaped or former enslaved people. Not all Black people come from Africa.
Stealing, reparations next, other groups don't want us to have anything.everybody needs to latch on.😮😮😮😮😮
Beautiful! Don’t forget your history folks! 🇺🇸✌🏾💪🏾👈🏾
Black Seminole, black Mexican, black American or Afro this or that; that’s disrespectful from them they are supposed to just be Seminole, Mexican, Honduran,Colombian and so on… Let’s leave behind the division! Let leave behind the racism! Let’s leave behind the separation… Black people when are ou going to understand!! You are the ones separating from the rest!!

Why the black people being the last people in these lands cannot assimilate to Mexico, Ecuador, USA… Why they have to be always putting their African roots before the country where they were born????
My uncle is a Mexican Tiger Woods. He and my Aunt travelled to Africa as tourists and walked with lions and visited Mr. Nelson Mandela's landmark house.
This is beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
Watch⌚: Eventually, *Juneteenth* will be "all about" Black Mexican slaves vs. American enslavement being abolished!!! 🤦 (aka: revisionist/whitewashing history; again 🤷)
Omgosh!!! This I didn't know. I knew about black Seminoles who never left the USA but not this part of the story. I grew up with a black Seminole here in NYC. Met others during my life. AMAZING VIDEO!!!
💚🌈✊🏽🌎
Yo look up John horse he connected to this
Great story, i think i learnt about something like this when I visited the Native American exhibition in one of the museum's in NY in 2017...
The descendants of the black seminoles are beautiful people 💐
See the slave part they were Indians slaves by black Europeans. That’s correct as they wasn’t white or pale. These were all Black people ruling.
Shalwam to my Israelites in Mexico
Thank you for sharing. Blessed to be a part of such rich and unique history.🙏🏾🙌🏾💜
Love the FSU Seminoles. Now I know why. Blacks, Native Indians, Latinos we are true Israel, God's chosen nation.
THEY NOT LIKE US!!
Here we go. Another damn race of people tryna take shit away from FBA’s can’t we have any damn thing to ourselves… damn!!
I don't know where this story of seminoles being runaway slaves came from. Seminoles were a conglomerate of tribes fighting to protect their land and oil. The word semimole literally means Blacks or Maroons. And what you call the Indian wars was really known in Europe as The Petroleum Movement. This conglomerate of Black Tribes also included California Seminoles. One tribe well known today as Sinaloa fought valiantly and thats the only reason why they arent extinct today. Maybe a little pale but still with us.👍 Maybe if the United States came clean about what really took place in history citizens would know the war never ended. All you hear from Amerikan media is what are we going to about Afrikan Amerikans, Mexicans, Sinaloa, Rußians, Germans, and Housing? This is all you will ever hear from every Amerikan media outlet, News Paper, and Social Media dating back to the 1800s. Thats because Media literally means WHITES.
Good for you all! My family members did not have SO CALLED NATIVE AMERICAN ANCESTORS BUT WE HAVE JUNETEENTH
No such as the black Seminole Indians. All the natives (so called Indians) were so called black. Especially until the Spaniards and Europeans (the biblical Edomites) came raping, robbing and stealing. That's why you have so many different shades in Mexico and central America. Ms Rocio Escobar, I appreciate your input but the so called Mexicans and native Indians were all heavily melanated (so called Black). Listen to the Israelite spiritual they are singing. Some say negro slave hymns. Wonder why. If you don't believe me, tap into the Library of Congress and it will make you question all the lies. So my Mexican brothers and sisters, you are not so called White Hispanics. You are biblical descendants of the children of Israel who were all black. Love you all. APTTMH YAH
Not ALL OF YOU ARE BLACK
They’re some unique looking people
Beautiful! I love our ancestors!
Choctaw Nation my Great Grandmother 👵🏽😘
I’m Black Seminole and Black Foot blood lines! Greetings to all my brothers ! Let’s Make this country OURS AGAIN 💪🏾💪🏽
Thats whats up ❤❤❤
They didn’t mix, the real aboriginals also known as Indians are now being called black and or African American🤦🏾♂️
I'm a white straight man. I'm so sorry for liking women and being white. I know how bad it is for me to want to put my dicc in a women but please forgive me. And I'm sorry for taking a shit this morning, I know how racist that shit was but I couldn't help myself I really had to shit
Let's not romanticize history. The Seminole also enslaved Afrikans.
💯
Wow that’s very interesting. That’s too bad they don’t teach that in our American History classes in public schools!!❤
Happy for them 😊😊😊 me enjoying this becoming a holiday that is the envy of everyonem
