puuuh good question. i think these type of cutters are to delicate to a logo or writing to them. I can only think off adding a very very simply logo/writing by subtracting it from the underside when having a solid surface like in this case winnie's head and print with support.

I'm struggeling so much with the weird arc tool. So i undo and redo until it works. Idk why they made it so difficult. If it does not work for you, I recommend doing the following: select both lines you want the arc to be in between, click on the lock on the right bottom corner to lock them in place, select the circle tool, draw a circle between the two lines, select circle and one of the lines and click tangent, select circle and the second line and click tangent, move in place and trim away unneeded lines. Hope that helps :)

Yes Shapr3D is a paid subscription. Autodesk fusion is a good and free for hobbyist alternative. Onshape is also available for free but all files designed are open to the public

I made it all the way to 5:48 where you are beginning to extrude the edges, and can’t see to get that part selected to do so. Does the free version not allow this?

I never worked with the free version but often when you are unable to select a profile it means it’s open somewhere and not a closed profile. Check all corners for an open spot within your contour

No, Shapr3D is not free. Autodesk fusion is a free (for non commercial use) alternative as well as OnShape (but everything you design is available to the public)

it's lots cheaper compared to Fusion or Onshape :) You could try Fusion's free hobbyist plan. I have a few cutter tutorials designed in fusion too

See if you can find someone in the school system and have them create and account for you using their edu email and get it free for a year.

Hmm that is strange. I tested it again and it does for me, same as in the video 🤔 did you have the bodies visible when trying to select the contour to extrude?

@@kazzui Yeah I do - no problem, I'll keep playing around with it and hopefully I'll find what's causing the issue. The outline part was super useful though and I've just printed my first cutter so thanks for the tutorial :)
