Hi everyone! My name is Regina. I'm a foreign trained dentist from Germany currently living in the US. I aspire to help other dentist who have to go through the same process to be a licensed dentist in the United States. Hey there! Thank you for watching! Are you planning on applying for dental schools in the US and have a dental degree as well? Then you should select dentistry. Unless you plan on studying in a different field.

Hey there! Thank you for watching. To get a work authorization and SSN here you have to have a visa or green card first. It's best to talk to an immigration lawyer about this.
Can the institution receiving the documents be JCNDE?
Hi there! If you want your results to be used for dental school applications you definitely have to follow the steps I'm mentioning in the video. Basically, be on the CAAPID website, then open 'order official foreign evaluation' and then select ECE. You won't have to select any institutions if you do it this way. It will automatically select CAAPID - ADEA as a recipient for you.

Hey there! Thank you for watching! You do have to get a visa or green card first. Then you receive a SSN once you get your work authorization.

Hey!! No you don't have to register in CAAPID for this. You just have to pass the Dental board exam or Hygienist board exam. For this you just have to create a DENTIPIN. CAAPID is not necessary! :)

Hi there, thank you so much for this detailed information. I have two questions for you: 1. Did you only upload the copy of notarized transcript as a proof of completion( or just a simple copy with out notary) OR both send a mail and upload the proof of completion? 2. Where did you request to send your INBDE result ? Was it using DENTPIN log in >> send score to Florida Department of Health Board of Dentistry? or somewhere else?
Hi there! Thank you for watching! I just uploaded a regular copy. If they need more they'll contact you. Correct! For sending your INBDE results you have to login to your DENTPIN and then send your score to Florida Department of Health.
Do i need to go through CAAPID if I’m only applying for the exam and not the dental programs ?
Hi!! No CAAPID is only necessary once you're ready to apply to schools. You don't need CAAPID to take the exams.

Hello! Thanks for watching :) It depends on how fast you're able to take the two tests. Sometimes you're lucky and can take it the same month, sometimes there are no available test dates for the next month or two. So, if you're flexible with your test location, it should go fast, and you should be able to complete everything within 1-2 months.

Hi Thanks for watching! :) I believe it's possible if you have a work authorization. Make sure to double-check with the Florida Health Department though!
As an international dentist, what are the visa requirements? I don't have any valid us visa, so if I clear the exam, how can I start practicing there?
Hi thank you for watching! It would be great if you would get a visa before you start this path. It's not easy getting work visas in this profession. Exploring educational pathways like the F-1 visa combined with OPT might be your best option. Each visa category has specific requirements and processes, so it’s wise to consult with an immigration attorney or expert to navigate your specific situation.

Hello! I can’t find CAAPID to select when typing it in search for institutions on ECE…
Hi! Make sure to follow the steps in the video. After you fill out the 'Colleges Attended' section on CAAPID, it will say 'Transcripts are required'. Then select 'order' to be redirected to ECE's website. ADEA CAAPID will already be selected as a recipient if you do it this way.

Hi, congratulations! My toefl score is 99, but I have US dental assiting experience, great GPA, good recommendation letters. I applied the 3rd week of March and haven’t heard from them. Do you think my toefl score is too low? Thanks!
Hi! Thanks for watching :) 99 isn't that bad. They look at applicants in a holistic way so it can't only be the TOEFL score. It depends on how much experience you have gained here, how compelling your statement of purpose is and they also care if you're located here in the United States. I believe they are accepting fewer students from outside the country now. But don't give up and keep working on your application. Many students have to apply a couple years in a row until they get accepted. It's a difficult process but it's worth it!
How about howard univeristy in DC or Maryland dental school?

Thank you for the amazing tips. I have a question so in the actual bench test will we be asked to bring in instruments? I know you said in the video a lot of schools don’t allow bringing in tools, but will we be asked be some other schools to bring tools as a requirement?
No usually you don't have to bring anything. They provide you with all the necessary instruments and materials.

Thank you!! My toefl score was 114 (anything over 100 is good enough for them). They don't really care much about GPA. If you have great experiences here in the US, good recommendation letters and SOP then you'll get an interview. Apply as soon as possible! I applied on the first few days of the application cycle, then was one of the first to get interviewed and accepted. Good luck you'll make it too!!
