    I have a 63 Ford galaxy I just bought it. I noticed coolant leaking from the bottom of that thermostat housing. I’m wondering if it’s the O-ring or should I just replace it all including the thermostat I noticed the engine gets really hot but it doesn’t show on my dash meter.

      Update - my 67 galaxie now starts with the key for the first time since 1979. Note it's Oct 2022. Found that I have to hold the shifter forward while turning the key. Also won't start in neutral. Looks like I need a switch. Thank you for the exact example I need.

    I know what your doig, I have a 1966 Galaxie XL500 and with a center console. I could not find a Nutrail Safety switch so I went and purchased a B & M Star Shifter which bolted fine in the console and came with it's own safety switch and back up light switch attached. So if you want to spend the 250 bucks for a new shifter or spend X amount of money for a used and maybe a new one, that will be a good way of getting a new shifter that works very good and shifts and starts on the button. Thanks for the channel and since I am retired now, please feel free to send me a message if you need assistance. Ben

    Thanks for the great video! 1. The glass on mine was held on with retainers. I had to move the shifter to neutral to expose the 4th screw and remove the plate, glass and all. 2. I used a zip tie to hold the lever in place in true Roadkill fashion

    • @dandyman132
      @dandyman132 3 года назад

      It really looked like someone had went through and cut out most of the rust in the areas before they painted it. To look at it, it doesn't look like it was rusted that bad. If yours is rusted out that bad you may have to just cut those sections out and weld some new metal in after you mold it to the shape you need it. Bending the metal to that precise of a shape will probably be the hardest part. Thanks for the comment brother.

      Thats great. Ill have to look that up. I'm not worried about 2 inches lower. That wouldn't be much at all. It may be a few before I get one. Just dropped 400 on some rims and tires off a 2000's mustang for her. They are too deep so I need to order some adapters to pull them out from the control arm.
